Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The communication from the hotel was excellent, and accessing the room later in the day via the key box was no problem at all. The location is great—just a short walk to the beach and shops. The room was clean, though definitely a bit tired. The carpets were grubby, and the wallpaper could use some attention. Still, for the price, it was perfectly adequate.
It’s unclear whether rooms are let on a longer-term basis, but it seemed that way. Sadly, our neighbour was audibly upset and sobbed through the night—not the hotel’s fault, of course, but difficult to hear.
Close to shops & beach. Good powerful showerr. Room not the cleanest, 2 drawers contained some wooden forks, half a spaghetti packet, chocolate & a bra !
The owner messaged to advise how to access the key for the room, as we would arrive after the 'reception' closes (no reception area in the hotel) and organised a parking permit for us. However, we could not find parking, as it is permit road parking and we had to park in a private car park (which ultimately felt safer due to CCTV). The hotel was run down and dated. On arrival another guest greeted us with 'you're not staying here are you!?', which is not the best first impression! Once we got our key (which was in a key lock box), we went into the room, which was the only one on the ground floor. The room was tired, dated and smelly! It was musty with mould around the only window in the three rooms. There were dirty areas in the very small shower/toilet room (we didn't fancy a shower!) and the window lock was broken. There was a fridge in the room, but we didn't want to use it due to the condition of everything in the room. Having arrived at about 6pm, within 10 minutes we had chosen to go into town for most of the evening and we checked out early the next day! The bed sheets seemed clean, but had it not been a chilly evening, we would have chosen not to sleep in them. For the price we paid, it was over priced and I would definitely not recommend staying here.
