"Great location for wine country and Octoberfest. Well appointed for two couples. Everything worked. Lots of pots and pans and kitchen accessories. Really liked the screened-in porch. Located on the river but not a place to go to walk out into the river and float around. Hot tub worked perfectly. Need to add a gas grill under cover as we wanted to grill and it was raining. Will definitely consider renting again when we come back to Texas wine country."

"Late booking for a single night, so I am very thankful the cottage was available. We were coming from a wedding in Sisterdale so arrived late - around midnight. First issue was the inconsiderate guest in the Tesla who took up two parking spaces leaving us nowhere to park without blocking everyone but in the driveway. Second issue is there is a lack of signage and a visible path or walkway to the cottages. The landscaping while very lush in the daylight is too overgrown and made it difficult to find our way to the front door of the cottage. Once inside all was fine, except pillows on the bed are too firm and uncomfortable. Interesting place out of a Grimm's fairy tale, if you are looking for something off the beaten path with an abundance of German-inspired decor this is the place."
