House set up was great for our family of 10; 6 adults and 4 kids. Quick easy walk to the beach. Great kitchen space for cooking and eating. Enjoyed the sand toys and axe throwing game.
Several of us girls spent a week here. The house was nice and had everything we needed with a great view. We had access to the beach and were close to shopping!
We really enjoyed the house and the neighborhood. The location is excellent, tucked back in a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the beach, with groceries and restaurants 10-15 minutes away.
This was our second year staying here. The house is ok and suits us fine . The living areas are nice and we enjoyed both the front deck and the rear d class with the fire pit . It was in need of a good cleaning but we also understand it is a beach house . The neighborhood is great and use of the private beach is awesome. Thanks again .

Great Location. Old House
The house is in a great location The beach was beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The walk/run/bike path was great. The house however is very dated.
The carpets were stained. The kitchen had newer appliances, countertops, flooring, and the utensils were well stocked. However, there were some broken/wobbly chairs. The coffee maker didn’t work but was replaced by the owner later in the week. The lower bathroom looked updated, but the upper one was not. There is old wallpaper in the upper bedrooms and no mirrors (other than in the bathroom). The upper bedroom and bath doors didn’t close all the way. When you could close the bathroom door, you couldn’t lock it for privacy. The upper deck also had some soft boards, so it didn’t feel safe.
The owner is very quick to respond, but it was unclear when/if things would be addressed. For instance, when we arrived the garbage bins were overflowing from the previous guests. The smell made unpacking uncomfortable. I asked the owner when the trash bins would be picked up. She quickly responded that pickup was Thursday morning. Surprisingly, she said she would pick up the trash herself the next morning. She never came by. I took the trash bins out on Wednesday night. Neither the owner nor any trash pickup services picked up the bins before we left.
Everything is so great about the location. We spent a lot of time on the beach or in town, but If we had bad weather it would have been a bigger deal.
Great location! Beautiful views of lake Michigan! Short walk to a beautiful beach that is private for the area! Great space for my family of 10 with ample parking.
The property is tucked away in a quiet lake front neighborhood. Easy access to Grand Haven and Holland. The house was clean and inviting. Great views from the deck. We enjoyed our stay.
Location. Location. Location. The house was in a beautiful neighborhood with access to the gorgeous lake. It was the perfect spot for our family for a local wedding. All the amenities of home.
Our family loved the location. The house is very nice. We didn’t spend much time at the house except for sleeping. While some updates are needed, the house overall is exactly as described. The host was very responsive and responded in a timely manner if we had questions. We really enjoyed our time there.
We had an incredible stay at this beautifully crafted Craftsman-style lakehouse with stunning views of Lake Michigan and direct access to a private beach. The location is perfect — peaceful, scenic, and convenient. You can truly feel the care and intention that went into building this home; it's not a cookie-cutter vinyl house like so many others. Every detail reflects quality and character. The owner is an absolute five-star host and an even better person — responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to making your stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!
House is in a good location near beach access and deck has very nice view of the sunset. Good access to both Grand Haven and Holland which were desired destinations. Quiet neighborhood led to fun family times on beach and deck.

House could use some modernizing. There was a question if we could use the private beach.
This was a great place, the neighborhood was beautiful and so was the house. The only bad thing was that we went to look at the beach and the neighbor came to our house that night to say that since we weren’t residents they were going to call the cops if we went there again. But other than that it was a great trip.

First time in grand haven.
Met the property owner and family briefly, they were very nice and polite. The home is in a nice location, far enough from downtown grand haven to enjoy the peace and quiet yet close enough drive to the downtown area. Upstairs bathroom needs a makeover. The private beach is a few feet away and has a nice deck to enjoy the sunset.
spacious home in lovely neighborhood with beach access
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. It has a large front deck with lake views on which we spent most of our time. The private beach is beautiful sand and clear water. Due to our age, one of the ladies in our group was not able to do the steep steps down to the beach but was still able to enjoy it from the deck at the top of the steps. Grand Haven is close by with lots to do including a nightly waterfront music and laser light show!
Had problems with the cable tv and internet - shut down daily and had to reboot everyday.
House appears to be under renovation - upstairs was very nice but the downstairs still needs a lot of work. Mattress on upstairs bed was in need of replacement - very uncomfortable. We did enjoy our stay and would book it again in the future with hopes it will be fully renovated then.
We enjoyed our stay at Lake Michigan . The rooms that have been updated are really nice . Living room and dining area was especially nice . The front and rear decks were nice in the mornings and evenings. We had a fire on the back deck couple evenings. The bedrooms weren’t air conditioned but they had ceiling fans and the nights were cooler so we got along just fine . The beach access was awesome . We spent a lot of time on the private beach . It was a 5 min walk at most . There is a long stairway to the beach but my 72yr old parents managed fine . The sunsets were spectacular. We also went to Grand Haven several evenings and that was nice . Lots of restaurants and the boardwalk to the pier was really cool. We would stay here again !
Overall our family had a nice stay. It was my family of 5, my brother's family of 3, and our parents. So 10 people in all.
The property is definitely older but has some updates. The only AC unit is in the kitchen so the bedrooms were a little stuffy. The lower level rooms were a bit musty smelling. One bedroom did not have a ceiling fan. The other lower bedroom has no door on it. We had all the kids in there so it was fine for us but something to keep in mind. Also, the photos make it seem like it's right on the water but that is not the case. It's not a far walk though but the stairs are steep which may be difficult for older persons.
The owner was very responsive to questions. Something we're used to seeing in other properties is a sheet or short checklist of rules/expectations as far as checkout. We weren't entirely sure what was expected of us.
Would recommend the walkway/porch to the front door get power washed. We arrived when it was raining and the algae growing on the concrete made it slippery.
