This bustling Mauritian oceanfront town offers water adventures, biking trips, luxurious accommodation, renowned shopping spots and a fun-filled nightlife.

Grand Bay rests on a glorious natural cove in Mauritius. Cycle through the village and explore busy marketplaces and boutiques. Enjoy watersports in the calm ocean. Stunning hotels and spirited nightlife round out your stay.

Sunbathe on one of Grand Bay’s most enticing beaches, La Cuvette. This picturesque cove is secluded, with little boat traffic. Float in tropical waters. Stroll along the sandy coastline and enjoy views over the sparkling lagoon.

Enjoy Grand Bay’s famous shopping and leisure attractions. Head to Sunset Boulevard for chic fashion at upmarket boutiques. Alternatively, visit the Grand Bay Bazaar for a fabulous craft market offering ornate Mauritian crafts. Purchase expressive paintings of Mauritian beach life at a local art gallery.

Enjoy 5-star hotel accommodation with sea breezes and oceanfront terraces. Laze on a sun lounge near the pristine pool and enjoy a selection of carefully sourced French wines. Take part in the various watersports adventures that most hotels offer, including snorkeling, kayaking and waterskiing tours.

From your hotel, rent bicycles and take a scenic, easy ride around the bay to the brilliantly colored Shiv Kalyan Vath Mandir Hindu temple. Admire its vivid red and white turrets. Remove your shoes before entering and enjoy the calming interior of this sacred space. Visit another tranquil, ornately decorated Hindu temple, Surya Oudaya Sangam, just west of town.

For more challenging off-road cycling, book a mountain bike excursion at your hotel and follow scenic trails in the Grand Bay area. Weave through cane fields and glorious lagoons. Stop for lunch by the bay at a relaxed café and taste fresh, exquisite seafood.

Experience Grand Bay’s nightlife in its lively bars and nightclubs, where parties last until the early morning. Stroll across town and visit one of Grand Bay’s bustling club venues. Sip delicious cocktails in laid-back lounge settings or enjoy the party atmosphere on busy dance floors.

Reach Grand Bay in a little over an hour from Mauritius International Airport. Grand Bay is the ideal holiday town for fun-filled, sunny days.

Pereybere is actually just further up the coast from Grand-Baie town itself; but is less busy, crowded, and has less boats moored in the sea, and I think nicer beaches and swimming.

Not as beautiful as the every other area of the island. Tourist area becoming rough in the evenings.
