About this property

Granbury's Luxurious 'Abbey Manor'. Walk to Historic Square

  • Abbey Manor is a luxurious estate located just blocks from the historic city centre square in Granbury. This former physician's family home is nestled on a wooded acre lot. If it looks familiar, you might remember staying here when it was a Bed and Breakfast. It is still luxurious and now his beautiful home is very versatile with the ability to serve as an overnight guest home or a cosy retreat centre for group events. (8 guest). The Manor offers an excellent setting for corporate planning events, ladies overnight getaways, small business meetings, or pastoral retreats. Its sprawling 2,800 square feet floor-plan has a full kitchen, dinette, dining room, living room, den, office, 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. This is a perfect location for your Granbury retreat. Extended stays are also available. We do have surveillance cameras. We have installed an Acorn stair lift in our home; this service is intended solely for seniors.

Family weekend in Granbury

Our second stay and couldn't have been better. Beautiful house, well managed. Family was in town for funeral for our elderly dad, granddad, and great-granddad. Plenty of space to gather before and after to visit with kinfolk. Excellent host thinks of everything.

Granbury Get Away Girls

It was the perfect house for a group of senior ladies on a weekend getaway! It was a great location although a little far from the square to walk. But we had no problem finding a parking place. We loved the house and we all had a great time!

A beautiful hidden gem just off the square of Granbury

Our group of 8 was in town for the Granbury Wine Walk and had plenty of room to stretch out after a long day, nice amount of space to cook and eat for a larger group. Really enjoyed the tranquility of the back patio space. Perfect amount of parking space for multiple vehicles. I highly recommend this rental, Nancy was a joy to work with, we plan to be back next year also.

Veterans Day on the Square

Wonderful weekend in Granbury. House was exactly as stated. Very comfortable and close to the square. Only Con- very steep steps to the bedrooms - a struggle for all.

Exceeds Expectations

The entire property was pristine ~ from the perfectly manicured lawn to every aspect inside. The elegant decor throughout was an added bonus. We filled every bed and we never felt over crowded. The kitchen supplied everything we needed to prepare meals onsite. Just a short walk to an excellent Town Square, hiking trails and the lake. Hosts were very responsive. Will definitely sray again!

Christmas Vacation 2024

Three generations from 6-73 had a blast. We appreciated the Christmas decorations as well. The house was very clean and prepared for our visit. There was plenty of room to spread out and be involved in various activities. We walked downtown each day to see the lights and enjoy the season.Oh, and the two trees out back!I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we have a repeat in the future. Thanks for a grand time in a grand house.

Beautiful home in Granbury

Lovely property and location was great! Stairs are winding and steep (as older homes are) but some of our group had slight mobility issues. We should have thought about that when booking. Lots of space in the living area and den - the piano was a pleasant surprise! A few things to note - property was difficult to find at night - very narrow driveway entrance and dark area. No lights on the front exterior or street lights. Even sidewalk path lights would help to see the home. Seems that pest control had been there recently as there were lots of dead bugs. (Much better than live ones!!) You may want to find a time when no guests are expected so they could be removed after spraying. We also had a skunk in the driveway when returning at night. He sprayed a warning but we don’t blame him. We scared him as much as he scared us! Would stay there again if in the area! Peaceful and quiet retreat close to park and downtown square. Thank you!

The kitchen was so well stocked, we didn’t need the staples we brought. She suppled Keurig coffee pods, regular and decaf, creamer, spices, ice, beer, champagne, butter, anything you desired or needed was there. The bathrooms were also well stocked. The host was so nice and answered immediately if we had any questions or concerns! The bedrooms are all upstairs, but there is a cool lift to get you up the stairs. There were chairs for sitting outside, with beautiful trees and lawn. The location was great. It was very close to the Square and other restaurants around the lake, I can not think of one thing to complain about. I recommend this VRBO to anyone, it slept six of us so comfortably and room for many more! It definitely gets a 5 star rating from my group!!
