Swiss Village Inn

Posted 25-Sep-2016
No value for money we paid. We paid $160.00 for Swiss Village where room carpet was wet and not clean, bed sheets and pillows were seemed like used before. The window-type air conditioner was very old - seems like 30 years old. Reception said that they don't had any iron. We paid $140.00 for Best Western in Surrey, BC for an excellent room, noiseless air-conditioner, well decorated room including continental breakfast.

Okay place to stay overnight

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Pros: Clean comfortable bed
Cons: Coffee maker in the room.
This is a bare-bones motel - not even a coffee maker in the room. However, the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Pet friendly motel

Posted 20-Sep-2016
The room had recently been renovated. Very clean, beds good. Microwave bu no coffee machine which was a first in our Canadian travels! Unfortunately our friends room which was supposed to be non smoking reeked of smoke, it was only room available the management gave a full refund. Better communication with housekeeping could have alerted management to this sooner. We would definitely stay again.

Best rate we could find in Golden

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: The rate and beds.
Cons: The bathroom sink was clogged.
Location: Location was great. A block off #1. Didn't hear the train in the night!
For the rate, the room was satisfying... actually better than I thought. Double beds were comfy and the hotel was quiet.

Clean hotel close to restaurants

Posted 25-Aug-2016
The hotel was very clean and fairly quiet. The hot water in the showers was not totally reliable. It claims to have a hot tub ano sauna but the women who checked us in never mentioned it. There was a small fridge and microwave, a flat screen TV and very old telephone but no coffee maker alarm clock or hair dryer. I had booked a queen bed but I'm pretty sure it was a double. All in all it was $113.50 a night and the cheapest hotel I could find in golden. For it's price I'd stay there again.

Expensive

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: That is was available
Cons: Just about everything
We thought this would be a good one-night stop for the price. Advertised price didn't mention added cost for extra guests so our total for a family of four was higher than originally understood. Staff was pretty lazy at check-in, coming from back room with a mouth full of supper to see to us. Hotel is dated, guests fill out the old cardboard information sheet, keys for doors rather than card keys and chains for security. Our room had a funky smell, maybe masking formerly smoking rooms. The hotel is located near the traffic lights at the west end of Golden so highway noise is less of an issue, we didn't hear any road noise. Lots of food outlets within 2 walking minutes.

Okay for a one night stay on the road...

Posted 21-Aug-2016
Pros: value, and it's quiet.
Cons: general décor could use an upgrade. Its an old property and could use a little t.l.c.
Location: location is off the highway about a block so not bad for noise. easy walk to some restaurants. need a vehicle if wanting to go to historic downtown.
Nothing special. Decent, clean room. No real amenities. It's fine if you're just stopping in for the night on the way to somewhere else. Value is okay, if you're not looking for a pool or dining room, or gym, or any amenities. Fairly quiet, off the main highway. Had a good working air conditioner which was important after a hot day.
