Quiet room

Posted 25-Sep-2017
Our room was quiet and fairly clean, there was a wet spot on the carpet which we hoped was from a previous guest's spilled coffee and we were grateful the window opened to allow fresh air in to "dry' the air out. Clean comfy beds. Breakfast room is too small for the volume of guests served - we ate in the lobby on a couch. But we did eat.

Pros: The suite setup was nice to be able to put kids to sleep early. Families would enjoy the pool and included breakfast.
Cons: Guests in the neighbouring room were being quite loud much past 11pm and you could hear a lot through the walls.
Good value for the price. Nothing fancy but it was clean and the staff was friendly and organized.

Unfriendly staff, not helpful for new visitors

Posted 13-Sep-2017
I normally not rate any hotels in the past. I don't want to be mean with anyone who work in the hotel, but this staff the the front desk must be polite to all clients,

Rude Staff

Posted 11-Sep-2017
I often book my hotels through Expedia, and this is the first time for the past 3 years that a hotel reservation was not matched with the information given. As per Expedia, we booked a double queen + double sofa bedroom for 5 people (4 adults + 11 y/o child), but Ramada (in Golden, BC) gave us just a small room with 2 beds!! (You were not even able to add a single bed!) All staff also reacted very rudely in response to our mild complaint!

Efficient check in and check out process

Posted 08-Sep-2017
Pros: Generally Okay.
Cons: Pricing is a bit high for a motel with this level of services and facilities
The check in and check out are all prepared ahead of time, so it's absolutely no waiting. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but quite small. There is a small indoor pool and gym too. The breakfast is a bit disappointed, dining area is small and waffle was the only "hot item". With a hotel located in the middle of nowhere, it is not easy to understand why the rate is so much high?

Reasonable stay, overpriced

Posted 07-Sep-2017
Cons: Breakfast area is terrible, too dark
Some furniture is still very old, the beds are relatively new. Overall it was a reasonable stay, however, i do think it is overpriced.

Screw Up and Very Rude Receptionist

Posted 05-Sep-2017
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Fire the uncaring young man who was on shift at 10:30 pm at Ramada on Saturday, September 2.
Location: Great pizza at Red Tomato Pies. Wonderful downtown and scenery. A nice little doughnut and coffee shop called Long John's
I did not, in fact, stay, because somehow the reservation got screwed up and was for the wrong date. We arrived when we had always intended, en route to Calgary on September 2 to be told that there was no room and that the reservation had been made for the 27th of August. I really do not think that I got that wrong, having been using Expedia for quite a few years, but in any event, there I was, with my wife and daughter, 10:30 pm on a holiday weekend in the National Park area. The receptionist was only interested in insisting that the mistake was mine because, he claimed, "our system never makes mistakes." This is a ridiculous and arrogant claim as every human system has errors. But regardless of how this happened, his sneering utter lack of empathy for our situation was incredible. I asked him if there were any other possibilities in the Golden area and after a very cursory check he said "no." Fortunately, as with much else, he was misguided. The hotel right next door, a very plain Jane but amicable place, did have rooms and was even showing a "Vacancy" sign in plain view from where this rude young man was working the desk. I will not be choosing Ramada again at any point (I'll be in touch with them separately) and have some grave doubts about whether to use Expedia too. I am no computer, so I cannot say exactly what happened—except that our trip was made much less pleasant largely because of a receptionist who really didn't care a hoot about our situation.

We looked into the matter, the reservation you made was indeed for the 27th of August. Unfortunately you booked for the wrong date, the 'young man' working was told by other hotels in the area they were sold out which is why he told you there wasn't many options left. He offered you the phone number to other hotels as well. Thank you for the review.

Decent hotel

Posted 03-Sep-2017
Golden hotels are generally more expensive, this is a decent hotel for the price. 30-40 minutes drive to Emerald Lake and the Takakkaw Fall. 1 hr drive to Lake Louise. There are some restaurants and gas stations in the area and that's about it.
