Not as bad as you might think
I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled with this hotel since it gets such an incredibly low rating that I think doesn't reflect the current situation. It is a relatively inexpensive hotel that is on Highway 1 on the way out of Golden towards Yoho. Not the best location, but it does the job if you just need a place to rest your head for a night. It is a bit run-down, there are few amenities, but the staff were efficient and most importantly, it was clean.
It looks like they have recently renovated the main portion of the room, which is now actually quite pleasant. If they have the chance they should update the bathrooms and exterior as well - which are certainly a bit rundown. However, what is very nice is that the rooms have a decent sized bar fridge, microwave, and kettle, which makes them more functional than some rooms in more expensive hotels.
Overall, I was nervous when I booked the place given the rating and reviews, but it was the only place left in town though. In the end I was happy with how it worked out, certainly not the Ritz, but definitely a completely serviceable hotel with decent rates.
