Great place to stay. Nice rooms and couldn’t be better located.

The rating is actually 4.5 and its just because on our first day, our towels smelled so musty so we had to have them replaced. Also the corridors can be very noisy especially since the doors are heavy and slams if not guided to a close. If your room is close to the Spa, the geothermal smell (sulphurish) can be smelt in your room though that is not the hotels fault at all. The reason I continued to give it 5 stars though is because these things are bearable and is not entirely a deal breaker...

We were so pleased we chose Hotel Grimsborgir for our stay. It is in a beautiful location, easy to get to lots of different places of interest and the scenery is amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was so comfortable and warm. The hot tub was a lovely addition.

Rooms are a detached block of chalets - half with views over valley. Outdoor patios. Comfortable, spacious with en suites. Breakfast - an adequate buffet in the bar area in the main farmhouse building which is lovely. First floor restaurant open til 9 pm truly unique with windows overlooking the cowshed or the valley. Ground floor cafe serves great coffee & ice cream made on site from the dairy herd's milk. Delicious & open til 10 at night. Also has some souvenirs. Limited menu for dinner but...

This trip was a gift for my wife, to say she was pleased would be an understatement! Having never been to Iceland before and not really knowing a lot about the country, I used the reviews on Expedia to make my choice of where to stay. My wife and I were both very pleased with the accommodation at Frost and Fire. I opted for a superior suite, as I read the standard rooms are on the small size. Our room was very pleasant and clean, with a buautiful view of rivers and hills from the balcony....

This was by far the best hostel in Iceland for us. The hostel is very clean, we had private bathroom. There is a kitchen at each floor. The staff was friendly. Moreover, the hostel guests will get a discount at Laugarvatn Fontana.

Great cottages with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very well equipped kitchen.

Hotel Laxnes is located in Haholt which is about a 15 minute drive from Reyakvic. The views from the bedroom was stunning and there are plenty of facilities close by e.g. supermarket, pub and bakery. There is a bus stop just outside of the hotel and the number 15 and 6 go into Reyakvic, so it's easy to get into Reyakvic. The hotel was very clean and was cleaned everyday during our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and there was always plenty to eat at...

From the moment we arrived, until the minute we left, we were treated as valued guests. The hotel is based on a working horse farm offering a variety of rides and the horse theme is carried throughout the hotel, with rooms named after horses and even horse shoes for curtain tie backs which is a lovely touch. The rooms are spacious, warm, comfortable and have most of what you need. We were loaned a hairdryer during our stay and there was a flat screen TV with more than usual satellite...

This was our favourite hotel during our road trip around route 1. Peaceful hotel with comfy beds. Staff friendly and enjoyed the breakfast. Lots to do in local area.

Staff in the hotel were all pleasant and helpful, and rooms were nice and comfortable. I opted not to eat in the restaurant as I thought I'd be pushed for time to have breakfast before some of the organised tours starting at 8am, and generally decided to eat elsewhere in Reykjavik for dinner. Location wise, it's a quiet road just at the eastern edge of downtown, so just a few minutes walk away from various shops and restaurants. The most amazing hotel / suite apartment you can stay at. Amazing views, amazing staff who look after every detail and care for you whilst staying here. Amazing food and drinks and breakfast delivered to you room everyday. Just perfect! And once again the staff a just sublime/amazing. Thank you for taking care of us. Highly highly recommend!
