4/5 Very Good! (214 reviews)
The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the train station, beach, seafront walk and town and situated within nice grounds.
The pool was closed for maintenance, this wasn’t mentioned on Expedia when we booked. The hotel itself is a huge need of updating, all the furniture in the room was mismatched. The sink unit was some weird molded plastic thing which was something out of a public toilet. The shower was so short I had to pretty much sit in the worlds smallest bath ! Everything was very dated and creeky.
More like a retirement home than a hotel which has huge potential. It was very expensive for the experience. The grounds were lovely but just needed a bit of attention, like collecting filled ashtrays and glasses from outside tables, and removing the pile of broken furniture which was by pond (clearly been an area used for making bonfires). The breakfast was okay, shame they didn’t use fresh eggs for the scrambled eggs, the rest was very tasty though.
This hotel could be amazing if some time, thought and a bit of cash was thrown at it.
Sea view was lovely.
