"Excellent hotel in a historic building. Amenities are great and a bit quirky (see how they bring the luggage to the upstairs rooms). Staff is very nice. The Italian hotel on premise is Michelin listed."

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights.
The hotel features in the World Boutique Hotel Awards Collection 2015 and rightly so. With 11 beautiful bedrooms, library, roof terrace, stylish traditional design and friendly staff who make every effort made to accommodate customers exacting requirements this as good as it gets. Just don't expect an olympic sized swimming pool, gymnasium and conference facilities.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The property is beautiful, but it’s the staff and service that truly set this place apart. Throughout my stay, all the staff were incredibly attentive, helped me find my way around the best local spots, and had the most positive and helpful attitude all round.
The location was also perfectly placed in Georgetown, close to all the tourist spots whilst not being on a busy or noisy road.

A beautiful, new hotel with wonderfully helpful staff. Rahul at breakfast and the rest of his team were especially nice. Offering takeaway items without us having to ask which was a nice touch. Location was really good but we loved Penang as a whole anyway. Message wasn't the best but can't fault anything else with the hotel. Nice poolside too, would definitely return.

Boulder Valley is a very special place where you feel very close to nature. The tents are amazing and the beds comfortable without having to deal with any threat of insect life etc actually inside the tent apart from the odd mosquito especially if it rained (just take some mosquito coils with you). Being in a valley, noise tended to travel especially at night if anyone was partying but generally, once re indeed people were thoughtful. The restaurant was very good with a good range of food all...

Wonderful hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff. A very good buffet breakfast selection, with a la carte options, freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccino. A nice small pool with sunbeds. Rooms very clean and comfortable. An excellent stay!

Everything was clean throighoit the whole hotel.
Premium quality finish on Premier room.
Pool/bar area was a nice place to chill with a good city view.
Gym was good, could just do with with a few more weight machines in my opinion.
All staff very friendly 😃

This hotel is so very beautiful and unique, expressing love for a vibrant bygone age that was the Peranakan Chinese in the late 19C and early 20C in the highly decorated southern Chinese furniture, objets and gilded carpentry in the hotel's overall decor, as well as the use of Victorian floor tiles which was favoured for both their beauty and practicality. Standards are some of the highest anywhere, in stylish and unique decor, cleanliness (pristine), friendliness and helpfulness of the staff...

There are many boutique hotels out there these days, some much better than others, but the Edison George Town has to be up there as one of the best I have stayed in. Smack in the heart of colonial George Town is this wonderfully renovated hotel, brought back to life by the new owners.
The restoration of the hotel has been extremely well done and attention to detail impeccable throughout. Our bedroom was well furnished and comfortable, the bathroom, spacious with fine smelling gels and shampoos...

Staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Everything is brand new and lovely. Rooms are elegant and spacious with an excellent shower. Great location for walking to Little India, Little China, the heritage area, jetties, street art, and many eateries of all kinds. Beautiful rooftop infinity pool with towels and shower.

Its a wonderful building with very pleasant staff. Limited food options, but many local places to eat. Rooms are lovely, with lots of space. Road noise can be an issue, but wasnt for me.

Areca Hotel was delightful, full of character, so much nicer than the high rise hotels we have been staying in so far on this trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, not only with a welcome drink, but an invitation to afternoon tea each afternoon of our stay. The room was small, but adequate and freshened every day inclcluding clean towels etc.

Nearly a 2 week stay at Ascott Gurney. A lovely hotel with great facilities. Rooms were spacious and clean.. Lovely downstairs bar / reception area. Swimming pool area was great.. separate covered pool area for children to use..gym well equipped and with good air con.
Location of the hotel is really good. You can walk into George Town if you want (approx 40 minutes) or take a taxi which won't cost a lot. Opposite the hotel is a recently completed park / walking area, very pleasant. Shopping...
