"ATTENZIONE! Per arrivare al rifugio bisogna salire sulla cabinovia, ma è aperta (e gratuita!) sino alle 23:00
Scoperta per puro caso: struttura nuova, vista della Presolana incredibile, personale giovane (in alcuni dettagli un po’ inesperto, si farà…) ma molto cordiale, uno dei gestori è gallese, molto simpatico, cucina ottima, vini pure, spa molto utile dopo giornata di gite
D’inverno probabile sia pure meglio, ma il fresco d’estate è impagabile…"

"This was an amazing find! The room was spacious with a separate dressing area and huge bathroom and spotlessly clean. The staff of this family-run hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The fix-priced menu for dinner was excellent and inexpensive and breakfast was brilliant with scrambled eggs made to order and a wide selection of savoury and sweet items. Great value for money and definitely to be recommended. "

"This was a great hotel with a nice staff and amazing view. The only thing I wish was different was the size of the room. A bit too small. But overall we were happy there. "

"Ottima soluzione per godersi la montagna da vicino.
Accoglienza ottima, come tutto il personale: gentili e sorridenti
Camera ( la nostra exclusive ) vista montagna spaziosa e moderna. Alcune pecche: abbiamo prenotato un matrimoniale… ci siamo trovati due letti singoli uniti, è stato fastidioso. Doccia un po’ datata e con segni d’usura. Nota di merito per i cuscini.
Spa ottima. Sauna e bagno turco in particolare. Unica nota negativa la temperatura troppo bassa per la piscina interna....

If you’re staying in this area then I thoroughly recommend this hotel. It’s clean, modern, the staff are very friendly and speak good English, and the breakfast is very nice. My room was spacious, and I didn’t see so much as a speck of dust.

A room with a view and a welcome as warm as the setting sun. We had an idyllic night in the Inferno room. Well worth the small upgrade fee to be facing South and enjoy the same view that the vines enjoy all year round. The bed was very comfortable, the location was very peaceful and the Ill Poggerio restaurant is the perfect accompaniment to the tranquil setting. Breakfast is simple and wholesome. The omelette was delicious and made from organic eggs that have a story all to themselves. The team...

The hotel owner and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing excellent recommendations for local attractions. The interior decor and rooms are even more stunning and immaculate than shown in the online advertisements. Situated in a charming village, the hotel is close to delicious Italian restaurants that are both affordable and delightful. After enjoying our first night, we decided to extend our stay for an additional night. I highly recommend this hotel!

An excellent place to stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
The air conditioning works very well, which made a big difference during the hot weather. The breakfast is decent, and the parking is reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was very conveniently located near the train station. Although we arrived much late than we planned (around mid night), the proximity of the accommodation made is less of a concern. Nice and cosy apartment with necessary amenities . The apartment came with a modern sophisticated washer/dryer which was very useful. It is well lit and clean. 2-3min walk to the Bernina express station. Plenty of restaurants near by.

The best place we've stayed in Italy during our 2 weeks road trip. The view is stunning, much more impressive than it is in the pictures. It's not necessary to take a room with the balcony because you can enjoy the views on the hotel territory which is pretty big and well-equipped: chairs, sunbeds with umbrellas and enough of privacy. There are also 3 lovely cats to make you a nice company :) You feel like you want to stay at the place as long as possible. The room was clean and modern. The...

The best area to stay in Gandellino is the central part of the village, particularly around Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
This area is the heart of Gandellino, offering easy access to local amenities and a sense of community. You'll find the main church, the town hall, and several local shops and eateries clustered around the piazza and along the main street, Via Roma. It's a compact and pleasant area to explore on foot.
For families, staying centrally is a practical choice. You'll be close to the small playground in the village centre and within walking distance of the local grocery store and bakery, making daily errands convenient. The central location also means shorter drives to the nearby nature trails and picnic spots, which are superb for day trips with children.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will also appreciate the central area. It provides a peaceful base with a few local restaurants for evening meals.
When is the best time to go to Gandellino?
The best time to visit Gandellino is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) months.
During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the surrounding Val Seriana. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting local attractions or enjoying the natural beauty. The landscapes are particularly appealing, with lush greenery in spring and stunning autumnal colours later in the year.
For those interested in winter sports, the period from December to March offers excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding in the nearby resorts.
