Welcome to this amazing, gulf front condo welcoming up to 6 guests with two full bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, even full sized laundry facilities INSIDE the condo. Outside the condo from the balcony you will see the waves, the sand, the surf, the sky and the passers by. At the complex you'll find a fitness center, two pools and two hot tubs. In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is a sleeper sofa in the living room. Each bedroom and the living room has a television - so no one needs to argue over what to watch. The kitchen offers everything you could want to prepare your meals or warm leftovers from any of Galveston's hundreds of restaurants. The complex has 2 pools and a hot tub for your enjoyment when not dipping your toes in the gulf of Mexico. A private WiFi connection means you can work from home, home school, or stream whatever you wish while in the property. Also - the Dawn is steps from the corner, where there is a protected crossing directly to the beach - no dodging vehicles to cross this road. You will be close to shopping and eateries - so whether you plan to experience Galveston's culinary adventures or save money by cooking in (some or all of your meals) it's convenient from this central Seawall Boulevard Location. Visiting Galveston for one of the many competitive events hosted here? Cheer, dance, sports tournaments or conferences? Weddings, family reunions, class reunions, festivals, homes tours, or any other groups? Why squeeze into a tiny hotel room when your entire group could stay in their own condos and enjoy "together time" at the pools, hot tubs, etc. instead! Being in walking distance to a big box store makes shopping a breeze whether for food and beverage selections, beach necessities you may have forgotten, or souvenirs to remind you of your trip to the Texas gulf coast. The Dawn complex is located across from Babe’s Beach on Galveston’s Seawall – protected by traffic signals at both corners so you can safely walk across to the beach. There’s a huge big box store that starts with a W next door for all your shopping needs, and eateries in walking distance for sandwiches and BBQ. You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pools, hot tubs, fitness center, tennis court and grounds including BBQ pergolas, and all of the other outdoor spaces with other guests and residents of the Dawn condominium complex. The complex has 2 pools – at least one of which is heated in the seasons when God does not do this for us. There is a hot tub, a fitness center and picnic/BBQ areas. What's included: While we provide our guests with self check-in information and instructions, you can call us with any questions you may have at any time. You certainly COULD stay here without a car - you can walk to shopping, eateries and the beach, there is public transportation nearby, and there are several local and nationally "branded" taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats, ASAP (formerly WAITR) and DoorDash available as well. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. Should you need to reach us, however, we are but a phone call or email away and ready to assist you. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this. Bed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did – they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to “rent” beach towels from us – it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them – labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost. Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores. The Dawn condominium complex is located on Seawall Boulevard with protected (traffic signal) crossing at the corner for ease of getting to the beach. You will be close to shopping and eateries - so whether you plan to experience Galveston's culinary adventures or save money by cooking in (some or all of your meals) it's convenient from this central Seawall Boulevard Location. The Dawn condominium complex – like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. And we are unable to pre-pay this fee on your behalf. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through, pools, and fitness center The charges are $40 + tax per vehicle for stays of 1-3 nights, $50 + tax per vehicle for stays of 4-29 nights, and $100 + tax per vehicle per month for extended stays. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to the Dawn on your behalf. We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them! Many of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving. The Dawn complex does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful. We strive for 5 star reviews at all times - and the first part of that is notifying everyone of every cost they may incur so that there are no surprises. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved. Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding. It was fully furnished, which was wonderful. The only complaint I have is the size of the bed in the second bedroom it is not a queen. It is a full size bed and very small. Here are some recommendations: The check in process at the front desk was really annoying. Having to pay for parking was a bit aggravating, but the payment process (having to go to a website on my phone and hand key in all my payment info). They should have a Point of Sale system to take credit cards or cash. For the Condo - the master bedroom needs new sheets, and the shower curtain in the second bathroom needs to be replaced. ##### William B. We do alot of vrbos and I cant say enough good things about this one. Beds were very comforting, shower was AMAZING (and im picky on showers), VERY clean. I cant believe how well stocked it was in the kitchen too! We had an issue with clothing washer on day 2,sent an email to property manager and had a response within 2 hrs. She came and looked at it and figured out this issue and called me right away. Only slight issue we had was parking. Plenty of parking but the spots were pretty tight for our large SUV. Definitely wouldnt deter us from booking at the Dawn again. Will recommend this property a thousand times over. Wish we could have stayed longer! ##### Sara E. We did not realize it was up several sets of steps/stairs and that parking would be hard. The unit is right on the sea wall so car noise can be overwhelming at times. Provided various amenities that improved the overall experience. One note I would have is to provide some trash bags. There were plenty of cleaning supplies provided and we certainly did our best to vacuum every day because lord knows my children were tracking in some sand from the beach no matter what I did to try and stop them. Great location and an easy walk across the street to the beach and short drive to many great Galveston locations. Would certainly recommend this location to others for a family stay. The property was well maintained, the management staff was courteous, and the condo manager was very responsive to everything. We had no problems, and had a great vacation.
