Cool AC. View of the Gulf. Half Block To Beach A quaint 2 bedroom, 1 bath, fully furnished cabana with a southerly view of the Gulf from the elevated deck. View Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier to the east from the elevated deck. The beach is just across the street. Located behind "The Spot Restaurant and Bars." Centrally located to major restaurants, attractions and clubs as well. The house is very, very clean. Hardwood floors are mopped by hand, even under the furniture. "All" bed linens are washed after every guest, even the blankets. Master Bedroom has a very comfortable 'Select Comfort Sleep Number' Queen size bed. Second bedroom sleeps 4 with 2 sets of comfortable bunk beds. Dining area seats 8\. Living Area seats 6\. Cable TV and " free" wifi. Central air and heat. AC cools really well. A plus in the summer. Equipped with entertainment system Free, off-street, on-site parking in the grass driveway on east side of house. Without doubt one of our favorite vrbo homes. My husband and I took a trip for our Anniversary. Upon arrival were welcomed by a beautifully decorated and refreshing bottle of Pinot Grigio! The property owner was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. We had two great evenings here and the home was beautifully decorated in a vintage Galveston fashion that is definitely worth experiencing. Pam has provided me information regarding the property and recommendations on activities and food even before our arrival date. The property is very clean. Our 3yo enjoyed the beach toys and the games in the house. And you cannot beat the location, especially during a holiday weekend. We were walking distance to the beach and the parade, so we didn’t have to worry about parking. While it is next to a hotel and a restaurant/bar, we were not bothered by noise and fireworks once we were inside. I definitely recommend this place. ##### Sarah D. It is across the street from the beach, and right in the heart of the action. There is a parking spot on the property, which is a big plus. You can easily see the Pleasure Pier and the water from the back deck. It is an easy walk to the Pier and several restaurants, you'll need a car if you want to go to the historic strand (which you should visit). The house is homey, the kitchen is functional (you're not going to cook Thanksgiving dinner here, but for quick breakfast and lunch it is perfect). Although every part of the house was sparkling clean, the linens and towels are a bit worn. The master bedroom has a sleep number bed for comfort (we didn't sleep on any of the bunk beds). The only thing to pay attention to about this house is the location. It is literally right behind a restaurant (as stated in the description) which adds sounds and smells to the back deck. The owner was very responsive and flexible and easy to deal with. We didn't have any issues, but if we had, I'm sure she would have fixed them. Overall a nice, comfortable stay. ##### Pam A. The accuracy of the online listing is very high. Had we not read all of the reviews we could have been disappointed, however. So come on in with your eyes wide open. It is across the street from the beach and walking distance to the pleasure pier and many other places. That's a huge plus for us. The house is really cute. It is a very noisy location, however. Bands at the Spot on weekends, garbage trucks very early in the ally right by the bedroom wall going to the Spot. Delivery trucks to the Spot all the time and early in the morning. The deck in the back is as advertised but there are times that the aroma of garbage from the Spot restaurant is a bit much, especially with flocks of seagulls dive bombing the same. Sometimes the aroma of good food is very nice, however. And sometimes, and most of the time, it's just the aroma of the gulf that you experience. So this is a place where you take the good with the bad, like all places. The front porch is amazing for people watching when the back porch is not so fun. The house has the feeling of Galveston and that's what we loved. Again, the close proximity to everything, including the beach, was a major draw for us. I hope this is a fair and balanced review.
