Gorgeous! Playa Tortuga PLEASE READ POOL & HOT TUB CLOSED: FEBRUARY 23 THRU MARCH 16, 2026 (weather permitting). Unfortunately, the pool's surface was stained due to an extended power outage after Galveston was hit by Hurricane Beryl. Currently, the pool is being replastered & scheduled to open March 16, 2026 (weather permitting). Welcome to paradise! Playa Tortuga is a first floor, fully renovated condominium, located across the street from Babe’s Beach. Unobstructed beach view with a private, spacious balcony! From this balcony, guests can watch the sunrise and take in the beauty of being at the beach. Playa Tortuga was created with guests in mind, to create a comfortable space where each and every person feels welcome. The Space: Playa Tortuga is located on Seawall Blvd, directly across the street from Babe's Beach. This condo is approximately 1,000 sq. feet, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, & the spare bedroom has a queen bed. Additional sleeping: a queen size air mattress & Pack 'n Play. The only place inside of Playa Tortuga to set-up the queen air mattress is the living room. INCLUDED in the rental, FREE for guests to use: four beach chairs, beach umbrella, sunblock, various beach toys, & several beach towels. POOL: A wristband is required to use the pool/hot tub at the condo complex. We leave one band in the condo. A guest doesn't have to wear it; however, please bring it with you while using the pool/hot tub. At checkout, please leave it on the dining table. A missing band results in a $20 fee. Playa Tortuga is located in an ideal location, on Seawall Blvd, which is close to many restaurants & attractions. Please keep in mind, Seawall Blvd. is the busiest thoroughfare on Galveston Island; therefore, guests will hear vehicles pass by the complex. When crossing the street, please use caution and a crosswalk. There is WiFi available for guests. Guest Access: Parking is limited at the condominium complex. No more than ONE vehicle per reservation (March thru September). No more than TWO vehicles per reservation (October thru February). This parking is FREE; however, guests who require additional vehicles, there is a fee of $20 per day, per vehicle, to park at the complex. There is another option available: You can park off property on Seawall Blvd. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, Seawall parking rules change frequently. Please go to galvestontx. gov to make sure you can park overnight & the cost associated with parking. Parking on Seawall Blvd. is the responsibility of the guest to set-up & understand. Parking is unassigned, first come first serve. There is a parking lot located at the back of the complex, off Stewart Rd, & parking garage. No large vehicles allowed. A large vehicle is one that cannot park comfortably into a regular sized parking space. No RV's, campers, UHAULs/moving vehicles, etc. Other Things to Note: Playa Tortuga has a central cooling and heating system with a smart thermostat (Nest). The Nest will not go below 68 degrees. In total, there are four outside security cameras at Playa Tortuga. Two are located at the back door. The other two are located on the patio. For security and insurance purposes, all are on 24/7. By placing and confirming a reservation with Playa Tortuga, guests understand, agree, and accept the following terms: \- List all guests on the reservation. No more than six guests allowed. \- Complex Quiet Hours: 10pm – 9am \- No Parties or Events: Per city ordinance, no more than six people are allowed at Playa Tortuga. If there is evidence of more than six people on property, the extra guests will politely be asked to leave. If that does not resolve the issue, the reservation will be terminated. Upon termination, all guests will be asked to leave the premises. No refund will be given. \- No Pets Allowed: Playa Tortuga does not allow pets on the premises. If the cleaning specialist smells pet odor &/or sees evidence of a pet (urine, feces, fur, etc.), a $250 fine will be charged. \- No Smoking (of any kind) Allowed INSIDE Playa Tortuga: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside Playa Tortuga. If the cleaning specialist smells smoke &/or finds ash inside Playa Tortuga, a $250 fine will be charged to the guest. Guests may smoke outside. Please use the ashtray provided (turtle ashtray located on one of the tables). Please keep the patio free of ash and cigarette butts. \- No Fire of Any Kind on the Balcony/Patio: Per city ordinance, no grilling or use of fire on the patio/balcony. If guests would like to grill, there is a grilling/picnic area located at the back of the complex. \- Guests will be provided with purified water (individual water bottles located in the refrigerator door). Please use this water in the Keurig & Air Diffuser. There is a Young Living air diffuser located on the kitchen counter, along with a few bottles of Young Living essential oil. Guests may use these items, but please use purified water. \- Do not use bathroom towels at the pool/hot tub or beach. Playa Tortuga provides several beach towels for guests. Playa Tortuga is located on the first floor. Please keep in mind, the first floor does not mean ground level. If guests park out front, there are only six steps to the front door/patio. If guests park in the back lot or garage, there will be one flight of stairs from the ground to first floor. \- Elevators are located at the back of the complex. If there are elevator issues, Playa Tortuga will inform guests before arrival. If issues arise during a guest’s stay, Playa Tortuga will contact that guest in a timely manner. \- Pool/Hot Tub: Pool & Hot Tub Hours: 10am - 10pm. CHILDREN (minors) are NOT allowed at the hot tub or pool areas UNLESS there is ADULT supervision. At NO time will there be a LIFEGUARD on duty. In the event of bad weather &/or lightning the pool/hot tub will close. If using the pool/hot tub while bad weather/lightning arise, please vacate the water. There might be unforeseen times where the pool/hot tub are closed for maintenance. These items are out of the control of Playa Tortuga. No refund of any kind will be given for bad weather or pool/hot tub closures. The hot tub/pool is a FAMILY FRIENDLY AREA. Please keep conduct ‘Rated G’. No eating while in the pool/hot tub. Do not use glass (cups, bottles, plates, anything glass) at the pool/hot tub area. Do not climb on the gates. If guests would like to use the pool/hot tub after the beach, please rinse off first. Sand is hard on the filter systems. There is an outside shower located next to the pool for this purpose. Playa Tortuga, condo owners, & complex staff are NOT responsible for any injury that may occur. By placing and confirming a reservation with Playa Tortuga, guests understand, agree, and accept these terms. When there are pool/hot tub closures, Playa Tortuga will inform guests before arrival. If issues arise during a guest’s stay, Playa Tortuga will contact that guest in a timely manner. If an item breaks during a guest’s stay, please report to the host/owners right away. By completing this reservation, the guest agrees to pay for all damages incurred (at the fault of the guest) during his/her stay. They provided everything we needed and extra. They were super kind and easy to communicate with. The condo is in a great location with the beach across the street. Upon arrival we were taken with the cleanliness of the condo and how well appointed it was.The location was excellent for all that we wanted to do and you can't beat being directly across from that glorious beach.I wouldn't hesitate to return to Playa Tortuga and would definitely recommend it to all! ##### Holly M. Very clean, excellent communication with the property managers and an absolute perfect location. We were close to everything. Our hosts had thought of every possibility and provide luxurious accommodations for a great value. Chargers abounded in living room and both bedrooms. Luxurious towels and beautiful showers in both bathrooms. There is nothing that could have been better! Hosts also had excellent restaurant recommendations. I have to rate this last trip one of the best ever! And one of the big reasons was Playa Tortuga! I cannot say enough about this condo and its awesome owners! The communication and access was excellent. And the condo was one of the cleanest and cutest places I’ve stayed! And if you needed it…it was there! I will definitely be back! The condo was very clean and decorated beautifully. We had water in the fridge, snacks on the counter, coffee and tea. There is also q-tips, cotton balls, a shaving kit. First aid kit,shampoo, condioner and body wash in each bathroom, a container in the bathroom drawer with advil, allergy meds etc... The porch was awesome, and faced the water. We sst there every morning drinking our coffee. The pool was refreshing and clean. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! ##### Jennifer T. Sometimes you never know what you will get when renting a VRBO, but this place exceeded all expectations. Cleanliness - Perfect! The decor, wall colors, furniture, etc…. were all you could want being near the beach! Plus, all the extra little things - phone charging cords conveniently located around the room, choices of K-cup flavors, tea, breakfast snack crackers or a coffee pot for brewed coffee. Bottled water, air diffuser with choice of flavored oils, air cleaners, pool, hot tub. Plenty of towels, washer & dryer with soap pods and dryer sheets. I could go on but hopefully you get my drift. Our host was the most pleasant person to work with. When I had a question, I immediately got an answer. When visiting Galveston, TX again, we will not be looking for any other place to stay.
