Our stay landed right in the middle of a 24/7 construction zone of "beach nourishment". 10pm/4am pumping of sand from offshore accompanied by the constant back up alarms and track clatter of 2 bulldozers, a front loader, the sound of mud pumping up on the beach and the din of 8 diesel powered light towers floodlighting the beach all night. A 4 am alarm clock with vibrations into the house from the pumping. I was quite annoyed that there was not an advisory of the construction zone from the management, as this was a scheduled project. Other than "that", the house is showing wear and tear on the edges. Scuff marks on walls, peeling wallpaper, liquid spills on the walls, some stained carpet, broken shower door latch. Someone had tracked numerous sand burrs into the bedroom which I found while walking barefoot. I guess now I'll have to research for nearby construction when planning a trip. ##### Thomas O. We were two families of four, and though the house isn't huge, we never felt cramped. Perfect location on the beach. There was a variety of beach chairs and toys, which was super-convenient. Within minutes of arriving we noticed an infestation of gnats, we couldnt leave any drinks un covered or hardly eat at the table the entire trip due to this. While the worst was in the kithen/dining, they were found throughout. Host was notified right away and gave suggestions such as us going and getting a bug bomb myself and setting off and buying other things for the house, after declining, he then did quickly send a store order with items for us to put around the house like tape and traps. While host acted surprised about the infestation, we later found gnat traps already in the home and was already suspicious they were "just there" over the weekend and saw nothing but dumped bug stuff in drains. This is the main part i did not appreciate. Also, host kept messaging privately versus within app like they are supposed to. Other than this issue that did truly effect the entire stay, the house was fine. Needed more thorough cleaning overall and definitely needs updates throughout but has great potential. The beach cottage has a homey feel! Great layout! Lots of chairs for lounging on the deck!
