The reviews are true, the room is small....but as two girls with three suitcases, we managed just fine because, really, there's so much to see and do in this area that the room is just a place to sleep and store your stuff! Who cares if it's small. It's impeccably clean, the water pressure is perfect, amenities are plentiful (and free!) and the beds are comfy. What more could you ask for?? The standard bedroom felt a little tiny even as a solo traveler, so I would recommend going for the double if you are traveling as a duo or feel you need more space. The Japanese breakfast is very much what it says on the card—if you're a foreigner and can't read hiragana/katakana, you might not recognize much beyond eggs/rice/pastries. The front desk staff were very receptive and kind! All in all I very much enjoyed my stay, especially with Tojinmachi Station just outside the door.
