Dirty, grimy, loud

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Pros: The bedding was clean. There was a pool that looked nice from afar.
Cons: Cleanliness, crazy sensor light, and noise. For goodness sakes, there was a maxi pad under the bed!!!
My daughter and I stayed at the University Square Hotel the night before a volley ball tournament. For the price, I expected something much better. First of all, the room was dirty. The light switch plate has visible grime on it, and it was sticky. We had to use a washcloth to protect our hands when we touched it. There was a maxi pad under the bed, dust on everything, the thermostat was dangling and didn't work properly, and there was mold around the sink and tub. There was also a ceiling light fixture on a motion sensor, and it went on in the middle of the night multiple times simply because one of us adjusted the covers or rolled over! Very disruptive! It also went off if someone got up to use the bathroom, and this was a very bright light that flooded the room! To top it all off, the floors in the entire hotel are laminate. Therefore, it is incredibly noisy. It sounded like someone was roller blading over head for most of the night, and the unsupervised high schoolers who were running amok through the halls (must have been on a school trip of some kind) made getting any sleep difficult. The towels had holes and were shredding on the edges, and did not smell clean.

Dirty and disgusting

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Room floors were dirty I didn't even want my daughter walking on them. Saw numerous beetle looking bugs in the bathroom on the walls and the bath tub was so nasty I wouldn't even want to go near it

I will not be coming back

Posted 13-Mar-2017
The pictures of the hotel look really nice. Got there and we checked in smoothly. We got to our room, one of my beds were not made, both phones were disconnected, wall paper looked nasty, and the smoke alarm was disconnected. Called down to front fest they accommodate us immediately with a new room and brought us the keys, us being on the 3rd floor and myself being 6 months pregnant. We got to our new room and I was a lot nicer looking. Beds were both very comfortable. I went to take a shower and got out got dressed and then walked over to my bed and my mom noticed that my feet were covers in dirt and hair. She too even found a black strand of hair in her bed.

Can't Recommend

We were allowed to check in early, which was nice, but there was a line of three guests and one of the front desk agents did not offer to help, he just stood around. One woman was on her own, and she was pleasant despite having to take care of all the guests by herself. She made sure to acknowledge the guests who were waiting. The best thing about the room are the comfortable bed and pillows. The room was relativley clean but in terrible disrepair. The smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling by a cord, the shower curtain had a foot long tear in it, the screen was gone from one window and the other window would not shut, the television kept showing a message that the signal was weak and the bedside lamp was not working. There was a group of young people in the whirlpool being loud all night until 6:30 am so we did not sleep at all. I called the front desk three times and was told 1. the security guard was sent to quiet them down (a lie because I watched for him for 15 minutes and no one ever came to talk to them) 2. they were reluctant to tell them to be quiet or leave because it was one of their birthdays. The people cleaning the banquet room after a party (at 3:00 am!) kept banging plastic trays on the ground outside our window and made a lot of noise and talked loudly. The front desk agent basically refused to help me so I gave up. The next morning, the halls were filthy and smelled strongly of marijuana, we could not wait to get out of there.

A little noisy maybe because of the University crowd but a good place to stay.

Always A Good Stay

Posted 06-Mar-2017
We've stayed here 3 times now. The rooms are very comfortable. The beds are great, very comfortable and clean. Nice size room and bathroom. Always a quiet stay. Check in and out is usually quick and easy. Staff friendliness is a hit or miss depending on who you get. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is the only negative. It's awful. Which I don't mind because the rooms are so inexpensive. Can't have both I figure. You will get apples, bananas, toast or english muffin, powdered eggs, dried up breakfast meat of some kind, day old potatoes, and two kinds of cereal. Tang or fruit punch to drink. That's what they had the three times we were there. So if you are not worried about breakfast this is a great stay! We will continue to return when in Clovis.

Nice room for the price

Posted 28-Feb-2017
We got a king room. The room was big and looked to have recently been redone, with hardwood floors. Had a couch, desk and chair, and mini fridge. Tv was a nice Samsung flat screen. Bed was comfy. Room definitely could have been cleaner though, there was dust and crud in the corners. The lobby is straight out of the 80s. We missed the included breakfast, as an entire sports team had just arrived and cleaned them out of everything, but it's surrounded by restaurants, so we just went out instead.
