Centrally located Hotel

Posted 07-Dec-2016
Pros: Convenience
Cons: More blankets available in the room for the early spring and winter.
Location: Fashion Fair mall is just up the street, the college is across the street and restaurants are just on the other side of the hotel.
University Square Hotel is convenient to Freeways, shopping and restaurants. They are working on updating the rooms and over the past year the accommodations have improved. CANNOT beat the price.

The hotel was a bit of a dive. It's older and was once a nice place, I imagine, but has not been updated or even kept very clean. Windows are dirty, carpets are stained, hallways are bare old white paint with weird fake wood flooring. My room had a big stain on the carpet. The free shuttle from the airport was a great convenience but even that was dirty inside with trash on the floor, stained seats and broken armrest, hanging off the seat. The people were friendly enough and the bed was great. The free breakfast is so so.

The bed was uncomfortable, and the bathrooms did not flush correctly.

Cheap, but still not worth it

Posted 30-Nov-2016
My room wouldn't warm up, the breakfast provided was a joke, and the desk staff member who checked me in was not friendly.

Cheap Hotel, convenient location, and that's it

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Pros: The cost of room and the location
Cons: Cleanliness!!!! Once your shoes come off, your feet becomes brown with dirt with a few steps. Vacuum and mop your floors please!!!
Location: Great Location, Fresno state is nearby so that's great for parents visiting, mall nearby and a whole bunch of restaurants all around.
Room was ok other than it being dirty. My biggest complaint is the floors. Once your shoes come off, your feet becomes brown with dirt from walking a few steps inside the room so the staff needs to vacuum or mop the floors because it was super dirty. The walls are somewhat run down but doable. There are dust balls gathering around the furnitures and under the bed. Blankets had stains on them. However, I will say that the cost of hotel is cheaper compared to other nearby hotels and the location is one of its strong points.

Very comfortable

What I liked the most was how secure everything was. You need your room key to travel through the building as almost every door requires it. Very friendly staff and a big lobby to have their complimentary breakfast buffet. Also you get free wi-fi. I would definitely return to this hotel.
