The property is located inside the walls and near the Market Square. It’s centrally located making it easy to explore the city and walk the towering walls. The hotel restaurant is good and is a great spot to sit outside and people watch while enjoying a beverage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They offered a bottle of sparkling water and a selection of coffee and teas. The breakfast was above par and included the option of making a sparkling wine with orange juice. Overall, very nice place, with good amenities, and very friendly staff.

I would rate this a 5 Star establishment. The wait staff are superb, check-in is way and they help with the luggage. We had a reserved breakfast table with the best offerings of any of our 5 hotel stays in Germany. This is my highest recommendation for a fantastic vacation experience.

Wonderful place to stay.
Very nice hotel, owners were very nice and helpful. No elevator but staff carried our luggage upstairs. Breakfast was really good. Location is perfect for exploring the City.

Owners are warm, lovely and service oriented. Comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast. The on premises restaurant is of very high quality. The location of the hotel is perfect: neat town square and not to far from outside wall and parking. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was super clean . The staff were so friendly and polite. Lasse and Arletta were so kind and helpful . Mr. Do and Frau in the restaurant were so welcoming and pleasant , same as other waitresses. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic and delicious. The hotel is centrally located and everything is close by. Our room was at the third floor and we had the best view , but had lots of stairs to climb. our bed was very comfortable. The parking is hard to find and In another building , but Lasse was kind enough to come and showed us the parking . The only thing I can suggest is to have little lotion in the room. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely place with a great location. Very old building so no elevator. Staff helped get luggage up. We lugged it down. No air conditioning but we did have a fan. The room was hot and muggy. Parking was very close but don’t use your gps - you will end up at a dead end near the hotel and have to back out

Great stay in Hotel Sonne
Just back from an enjoyable stay at the hotel for a few days. Check in was easy and the room was spot on. Car park is located less than two minutes walk from the hotel, it's definitely worth contacting the hotel and reserving a parking place. Hotel restaurant was very good, ate there a few times. It always seemed to be fairly busy, lot of people stopping to eat or have a drink. Overall really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend the hotel and it's staff

Lovely small hotel with very friendly staff and personal service. We had a big room with two separate bedrooms and a sitting room. Steps to everything Rothenburg had to offer. No air conditioning that we could figure out.

A GREAT hotel!
One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Europe. The most friendly and efficient staff you can imagine. The room was GREAT—modern, but with a wonderful old-world charm. And the breakfast was plentiful and delicious!…and FREE! Look no further: this is the place to stay in Rothenburg ob der Tauber!

Lars and Arletta showed us a level of hospitality that is rare in todays hotel world. They could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The hotel is ideally placed steps from the Christmas Market. The room was lovely and breakfast excellent. Foolishly we did not have dinner there others told us the food is fabulous. This is the place to stay in Rothenburg!

The staff was incredible during the entire stay - at the reception, restaurant, cafe, breakfast. The breakfast was well organized and had a variety of options. The room was clean, although the bead was to stiffed for my preference. Loved the welcome package we received on day one with cookies! Location was great, right next to the Christmas Market. Overall, I would stay again on this hotel.

The staff was so helpful and kind and they spoke English which was really helpful for us. The location is excellent. There is a pedestrian only road at the front of the hotel however you can drive to the back entrance. We would stay there again.

I like the hotel restaurant. the food is very good. I started with a curry seafood soup. The yellow curry, green and red pepper accent the color. The curry favor is mild enough to bring out the taste.

This hotel gave the best service i have ever had in Germany!! The hotel staff are amazing!! They went above and beyond with extraordinary service. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The only recommendation I have if you stay there is ask for the first/second floor if you have difficulty climbing stairs. THE PERFECT STAY IN ROTHENBERG OD DER TAUBER!
