Simply respect your neighbors, keep the noise down, and no parties. Welcome to The Prickly Pear! This newly renovated (Summer 2024) beach house is back on the market and ready to welcome you! The Prickly Pear can accommodate up to 12 guests, and with 5 spacious bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, there is ample room for the whole family! Enjoy an inground pool and seasonal heated spa surrounded by tranquil landscaping and trees. The spa is heated from October-the end of April. Hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment areas! The Prickly Pear blends modern design and sun-filled interiors with a beach town's relaxed, fun vibe. Located in a quiet section of the island, only a short and picturesque 2-block walk via a small path to the 3rd Street beach access with public restrooms and outdoor showers. Plus, you're just over 2 blocks from the vibrant Center Street, filled with great options for dining, shopping, and nightlife. Folly Beach, or as locals refer to it, The Edge of America, is a laid-back, golf-cart-friendly community with many great restaurants, a booming nightlife, plenty of shopping, water activities, and water tours. The famous Downtown Charleston is only a 25-minute car ride for more historical exploring, offering endless fine dining, shopping, historical sites, and more. There is something for everyone here. Also, the pool temperature will be affected by the weather, and freezing weather may keep the pool from reaching even 80 degrees. We cannot guarantee a specific temperature for any day of your stay. No refunds will be given if weather conditions prevent your pool use. The pool heater thermostat will be set to 82-84 degrees F. Notes You must be at least 25 Years old to rent this home. Contactless Check-In: This home offers a keyless entry system, and we will provide the code before your arrival date. Parking is available for up to 5 vehicles (depending on size). We do not provide beach equipment or towels, but anything available at the property is yours to use. Check-in time: 4 pm. Check-out time: 10 am. The Folly Beach noise ordinance is from 10 pm to 8 am. No smoking is allowed in or outside of the house. Pets considered: Our office must approve all pets before you arrive. Upon approval, a $150 per pet nonrefundable pet fee is due before you arrive. If not already on your reservation, it will be added. Once this is done and the fee is paid, you will be all set to bring your pet with you (2 pets max, no more than 60 lbs. each, no puppies under 1 year old, no cats). Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA and are subject to approval and fees before arrival. House parties, weddings, functions, events, bands, DJs, etc., are prohibited. The occupancy can be at most 12 people at any time during your stay. We require 50% payment at the time of booking. We love Folly and have been coming for multi-generational family vacations for several years. The Prickly Pear was perfect for tips year’s stay. The shared large open living space and kitchen were ideal - everyone had space of their own, but we could all be together at the same time. Lovely! The location is fabulous! We loved being on a quiet street, but just a quick golf cart ride or a short walk to the beach or town. This was the first time we’ve had a pool, and I don’t think we’ll be staying without a pool again! Now that our kids are adults, it was great to be able to “do our own thing,” spending the day at the beach or out and about, and then have everyone gather at the pool in the late afternoons to reconnect and plan the evening together. Upstairs shower did not work though and no response when called for assistance (but there was a hurricane passing by). made getting ready tough for a house full of adults, especially for a wedding weekend. Only blocks away from Center street and house was great. Clean, several sitting areas with TV's, nice kitchen and big master bedroom. We did have a few issues like the ice maker not working, master shower knob was loose and didn't operate the temp properly, and the cornhole board in the description was not at the house. But the shower was fixed within hours. The biggest inconvenience was the ice maker not producing ice. Outside of these issues I would highly recommend the Prickly Pear. Walked to church, brunch, lunch, dinner, ice cream, and shopping during our week. So close to everything. There is a straight shot foot path to the beach that you can sort of see on google maps. Not a bad walk at all, even with going a bit farther to the right to get away from the crowds near the pier. House has plenty of parking. Awesome pool (bring bug spray for mosquitos). Management co. was responsive and addressed our maintenance issues promptly. We were not aware of the Palmetto bug issue. We found live and dead Palmetto bugs (aka roaches).
