My only issue this stay was that our balcony room was positioned near the beach bar and we had to listen to belligerently drunk people yelling/swearing for hours (until one passed out on the little boardwalk). Next time I will request ...

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is centrally located on Duval Street within walking distance of any attraction. Parking is across the street which is very convenient since Key West is very limited in parking spaces. The bar area in the rear of the building is great with a clean pool and ...

Gay-Friendly Hotels in Florida Keys

Florida Keys has a long legacy of being one of the most progressive and open-minded parts of America. Today it retains its reputation as one of the most gay-friendly destinations in the country.

LGBTQ+ travellers are welcomed across Florida Keys, but some hotels in the region make this welcome part of their raison d’être. Stay in gay-friendly guesthouses, lodges and resorts in Florida Keys to enjoy the sights of the region and the company of like-minded guests.

The gay-friendly hotels in Florida Keys come in a range of prices and with different amenities. Find a cosy guesthouse accommodation that comes with fitness facilities and a nightclub, or stay in an elegant lodge hotel complete with a beachside tiki bar, outdoor spa tubs and childcare services.

LGBTQ+ History of Florida Keys

The Florida Keys have long marched to the leisurely beat of their own drum, once even seceding from the rest of the US. The region takes pride in its progressive attitudes and in less tolerant times, LGBTQ+ citizens would flock to the welcoming atmosphere of the Keys. It’s been at the forefront of gay-rights campaigning and was the home of writer and gay icon Tennessee Williams.

Key West even has the motto “One Human Family” as a declaration of its tolerant spirit. Look around the city centre and you’ll find a crosswalk covered in the colours of the rainbow flag, painted there in 2015 to celebrate the city’s annual Pride celebrations.

Partying and Pride in Florida Keys

Stay in a Key West hotel for the Pride parade, one of the best celebrations of its kind in Florida. Come to the city in June and join revellers from around the world celebrating diversity and love with a big, colourful party. Even if you can’t make it at this busy time of year, there are plenty of popular gay-friendly night clubs and bars around the region where you can always have a good time. Look around Key West city centre to find some of the best and most popular gay bars in the city.
