Numerous tiny windows frame glimpses of the 6-acre garden in which it is set – a garden which is so lovely it has been featured in magazines and on television. Inside, there is a wood burning stove and a counter-weighted stair to access the sleeping loft, and the cottage is filled with books and paintings. A welcome change from the general pace of life. We spent a fantastic week in this beautiful cottage, Christina who owns the property was the perfect host. There was plenty of room for our dog to run around in the outside and even though it was November it was clear that the gardens were amazing. We hope to go back again soon when the weather is better.Thank you Christina for making us so welcome we really appreciate it. ##### Mary K. We had some inclement weather, so didn’t get get outside quite as much as we would have liked, but the wood burner made the cottage so warm and cosy it was a pleasure staying in. ##### Deborah H. It is amazing how Christina and David have extended their love and care for the environment into their care for the people who visit. So many magical surprises … the Welsh Harp recital in the garden, visits into the cottage by robin and pygmy shrew and a course, the garden library. A perfect place to put cares and griefs aside and reconnect nature. ##### Linda C. Waking each morning to get wood and kindling from the shed to start a fire. Walking through the gardens that surround you. A very simple, peaceful, entirely pleasurable stay with nothing but the sounds of nature around. And anytime I needed help all I had to do was walk across the drive to their place. Very warm, friendly folks. If you want to stay someplace that doesn't have any frills, but has all of the charm and peace you could ever want, this is the place for you. ##### Vicki S. Cosy, very comfortable, full of interest, beautifully equipped and spotlessly clean, the delightful host Christina has thought of everything. The location feels remote and isolated, living in a garden for a week has been such a pleasure, even in winter. I wouldn't change a thing. ##### Jane p. A little bit on the small side and as it is an older building it does suffer from damp. We have experienced better welcomes to a property. Bring your own supply of kitchen items, as their coffee and herbs are years out of date. You definitely need a car to get about and it is more than a mile from the sea but there are some nice spots if you drive to them. 'The Little Cottage' is a beautiful and peaceful haven to explore the surrounding area, beginning with the wonderful garden the cottage is set in. Christina's garden is a labour of love and a joy to walk through and around. We got so many ideas for our lown ittle garden back home. And the library is a surprising treat!! We loved exploring this part of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion - the numerous walks are memorable - discovering the ancient oak wood of Ty-Canol, the bay and beach of Mwnt, a hidden treasure for swimming and dolphin spotting. I loved the cliff top walk back towards Dyffrin Fernant from Fishguard which has an intriguing place in military and cinematic history. The drive and walk to Llanachaer and Cwm Gwaun is a magical alternative to the drive to Newport and the north beach where we parked our car for free at low tide! Legal, too! Then there was the area's exceptional food and drink - locally caught and landed fish from Cardigan Bay at Dinas Cross, local lamb from Cardigan, amazing new cheeses - try Celtic Promise, local unpasturised washed rind, semi-soft. The cafes and restaurants all along the coast sold lovely fresh food and drink - and the people were so friendly. At the end of each quiet or busy day, come rain or shine, we felt blessed to be able to rest, prepare dinner, make up a wood fire, and slow down to a warm flickering flame of night time in the very large, very comfy mezzanine bed. The owners were lovely and all to happy to help us if we needed anything. The property itself was amazing with a fantastic log burner and spacious bed it really was all we could have wanted. The property itself is actually situated slap bang in the middle of some fantastic walks as well, the whole area is just fantastic. ##### Thomas B. We loved our stay in the cottage at Dyffryn Fernant. A well equipped cottage with lovely wood burner to keep us cosy and set in a beautiful garden - perfect for a glass of wine in the evening, taking in the views across the valley. Stunning coastal walks nearby and trips to the beach (lots of info in the cottage about where to go and what to do). Pembrokeshire is heavenly and the cottage is the perfect base for exploring. Christina and David were welcoming to us and our dog and available if we needed help with anything. Thank you - we would stay again! ##### Victoria W. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [Heritage Park Pontypridd, Trademark Collection by Wyndham](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardiff-Hotels-Heritage-Park-Hotel-Leisure-Club.h1668045.Hotel-Information) > > [Macdonald Plas Talgarth Holiday Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Machynlleth-Hotels-Macdonald-Plas-Talgarth-Holiday-Resort.h13232286.Hotel-Information) > > [Village Hotel St David's, Nr Chester](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Deeside-Hotels-Village-Hotel-St-Davids.h903462.Hotel-Information) > > [Château Rhianfa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Menai-Bridge-Hotels-Chateau-Rhianfa.h5103718.Hotel-Information) > > [Blanco's Hotel Port Talbot](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Port-Talbot-Hotels-Blancos-Hotel-Port-Talbot.h31632244.Hotel-Information) > > [The Towers Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Neath-Hotels-The-Towers-Hotel-And-Spa.h2305564.Hotel-Information) > > [Rossett Hall Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Wrexham-Hotels-Rossett-Hall-Hotel.h574570.Hotel-Information) > > [Holiday Cabin Sleeps 5 Glan Gwna Holiday Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Caernarfon-Hotels-Stunning-2-Bed-Chalet-In-Caernarfon.h58060470.Hotel-Information) > > [Seiont Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Caernarfon-Hotels-Seiont-Manor-Hotel.h486288.Hotel-Information) > > [Plas Maenan Country House](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Llanrwst-Hotels-Plas-Maenan-Country-House.h41741536.Hotel-Information) > > [Best Western Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Pembroke-Hotels-Best-Western-Lamphey-Court-Hotel-Spa.h4991.Hotel-Information) > > [Llanerch Vineyard Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardiff-Hotels-Llanerch-Vineyard-Hotel.h5705762.Hotel-Information) > > [Quay Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Conwy-Hotels-Quay-Hotel-And-Spa.h1517268.Hotel-Information) > > [Delta Hotels by Marriott St. Pierre Country Club](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardiff-Hotels-St-Pierre-Marriott-Hotel-Country-Club.h65879.Hotel-Information) > > [Tŷ Magor](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardiff-Hotels-Ty-Hotel.h3928584.Hotel-Information) > > [Tre-Ysgawen Hall](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Llangefni-Hotels-Tre-Ysgawen-Hall.h3499549.Hotel-Information) > > [Trewern Arms Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newport-Hotels-Trewern-Arms-Hotel.h6414383.Hotel-Information) > > [Lion Quays Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Oswestry-Hotels-Lion-Quays-Hotel-Spa.h1379396.Hotel-Information) > > [Mercure Newport Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardiff-Hotels-Mercure-Newport-Hotel.h46182979.Hotel-Information) > > [The Druidstone Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Haverfordwest-Hotels-The-Druidstone-Hotel.h23532098.Hotel-Information) > > [The Cliff Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cardigan-Hotels-The-Cliff-Hotel-Spa.h11900793.Hotel-Information) > > [Herons Lake Retreat](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Mold-Hotels-Herons-Lake-Retreat.h33266089.Hotel-Information) > > [Hotel Portmeirion & Castell Deudraeth](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Penrhyndeudraeth-Hotels-Hotel-Portmeirion-Castell-Deudraeth.h10075714.Hotel-Information) > > [Beaufort Park Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Mold-Hotels-Beaufort-Park-Hotel.h912336.Hotel-Information) > > [Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Port-Talbot-Hotels-Best-Western-Aberavon-Beach-Hotel.h865770.Hotel-Information) > > [Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Merthyr-Tydfil-Hotels-Nant-Ddu-Lodge-Hotel.h15447245.Hotel-Information) > > [Trearddur Bay Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Holyhead-Hotels-Trearddur-Bay-Hotel.h15717627.Hotel-Information) > > [Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Oswestry-Hotels-Lake-Vyrnwy-Hotel-Spa.h879530.Hotel-Information) > > [Sessile Oak, Llanelli by Marston's Inns](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Llanelli-Hotels-Sessile-Oak.h24239260.Hotel-Information)
