This was a fabulous bed and breakfast. Kelly’s hospitality was excellent. It is also situated in a good spot for visiting all the things on the east side of Big Island. Tremendous value for the money 👍

I stayed here for 5 nights and was very comfortable. The bed was quite firm, which I like, and I slept very well. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was good. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in a small alcove with crockery and cutlery. The tv was mounted high up on the wall. The free wifi worked really well. There was covered space to sit outside and I could access my room from the outside as well as from an internal hallway. There was a dehumidfier in the room...

If only we could have stayed longer!
We had booking the glamping unit, but because of water issues Theresa switched us to the Bungalow, which was so cosy.
She agreed alternative breakfast arrangements as we had to leave early on checkout. We only had time to meet the chickens and ducks at the doorstep, but we saw the donkey and goats sheltering from the rain! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're making a trip to Volcano NP.

The team Veronica, Luke, Luke, Amy, Aidan, Oscar, Rochelle, Lanna, Jane, Ethan and Brandon all did a fantastic job looking after people whilst also getting to know you and they have a fantastic family vibe going on.

Lovely hotel - the rooms were clean and modern and the staff made the stay wonderful. The 24/7 tea and coffee in the reception was delightful, and the seating area by the pool was lovely for an after dinner chat and drink. Close to lots of walkable breakfast options and a short drive from downtown Hilo.

We stayed here in Sept 2014 during a bit of a heatwave. The drive from Hilo is well signposted and the directions from the Inn's website were excellent. We stayed in the Hibiscus room in Harmony House. We had a fantastic view of the waterfall from our very comfortable, clean accommodation. The walk down to the waterfall was fine as it had been quite dry. The view of the starry skies on a clear night were amazing because of the seclusion and low artificial light levels.Tricia provided us with a...

Perfect for our stay at Volcano, thank you for upgrading us to a king room, it was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The contactless check in was easy, just pick up and envelope from the lobby with your room key and instructions. The help yourself towels, coffees and toiletries was a very nice touch. Overall we were delighted with our stay in Volcano and wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

Great views of the ocean and surrounding greenery. The property is well maintained and the communal area with pool table and games Is a great touch.
Jade and the team went to every effort to make sure our stay was amazing.
A 5 minute drive Into Hilo town but beware if you choose to walk it, the 20 minute walk back is all uphill.

Although there aren't many aparthotels in the wider Mountain View area, you'll find plenty of choices that you can book on Expedia with 60 lodging options. Let us help you find something similar to an aparthotel such as an apartment or condo.
What should I see and do in Fern Acres?
While exploring the area, visit family-friendly sights like Akatsuka Orchid Gardens, or get outside and enjoy nature at Kilauea Caverns of Fire. 2400 Fahrenheit Art Glass and University of Hawaii at Hilo are a couple of places you'll find in the wider area.
What is an aparthotel?
When you stay in an aparthotel, you can expect the space and privacy found in an apartment and the amenities you expect from a traditional hotel. Live like a local in an apartment-like space, often situated in the centre of Fern Acres. Enjoy making home-cooked meals in a fully equipped kitchen and having the space to entertain and relax with friends and family.
