"great location and amazing views. Pool is great along with area for relaxing. Hot tub is kind of small if the hotel gets busy (max 6 people). Hotel was undergoing renovations but not much of a problem. The buffet breakfast was ok 18USD. The restaurant was ok. Room comfortable on ground floor as we brought the dog 30USD night. Every room has a balcony it seems which is great. Big hill to climb if you go to the main street. Its right behind the lake placid museum and rink etc... close to everything. Trails driving distance away 30 minutes for most popular trails. It fit us well for what we needed for 4 day stay at a reasonable price 135USD night 185USD weekends non peak period (april 2026)"
"This was a nice place to stay for a brief, overnight stay. It was conveniently located in the heart of town and just a stone's throw away from the beautiful Long Lake. The room was a little basic but it did have a super refreshing shower. Would stay again because of the nice staff & convenience factor."
"Our stay was amazing. We just needed a quick weekend away, spur of the moment, and Lenny (owner) went above and beyond to help us enjoy every second. Clean, spacious, and relaxing. Breakfast at Chef Darrell's Diner was top notch. Great hike, and tree frogs at night. So perfect. Thank you so much! "
Cozy 2-bedroom cabin plus bunk house in the central Adirondacks, Long Lake
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at Base Camp in Long Lake and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place in the Adirondacks. We traveled as a family of six. Everything about the experience felt easy and well thought out by the owners. Before we even arrived, communication was smooth and straightforward. They were responsive, which made planning the trip simple. All the details we needed for check-in and the stay were clearly explained ahead of time. When we got to the cabin, the first thing we noticed was how clean and well-kept everything was. It matched the listing perfectly and felt very welcoming right away. The space worked really well for our group. With six people, it can be tough to find a place that feels comfortable, but this cabin managed to do both especially with the bunkhouse for the kids. We spent a lot of time in the main cabin and the upstairs master bed was surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the pans and utensils were better than expected. It was well-stocked. The location was also perfect, centrally located in the Adirondacks in the quaint town of Long Lake with close hikes of Buttermilk Falls, Blue Mountain, and a great suprise hiking Ok Slip Falls...well worth the hike! We also really enjoyed eating at the Adirondack Hotel just minutes away. It felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, which we wanted, but was so close to the amenities in town. "
"The cabin is so cozy. Loved the fireplace and convenience to Tupper, Saranac, and lake Placid. Great place to stay if you have a student at the Ranger School in Wanakana (Cranberry Lake) as well. Great day hikes close by. Internet is fast if you have any work meetings. The kitchen pots and pans were also great - chef grade. Water cooler was also a great touch. All of the couches and chairs were comfy for family movie nights in the evening. And there was plenty of seating for everyone. Wish we could have used the screen porch more but it snowed and was chilly when we were there. There is a little stream that runs down that side of the cabin and it is so tranquil. "
"Kitchen didnt have a stove or cooktop but has a microwave, a kuerig and a bbq grill outside. All plates, etc very nice phalsgraff mugs. Shower had hot waterand beds were very comfortable. "
"Perfect location in Tupper Lake area. Comfortable & spacious accommodations, everything you could ask for. Upgraded touches like evening "mood lighting" & access to the hot tub are a bonus perk!
Friendly & accommodating host, highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again!"
