It has been thoughtfully converted to a high standard and enjoys far reaching rural views. A peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life surrounded by 80 acres of working farmland with sheep and horses. The property is accessed from Burwash village via a half mile farm drive, with a 15th-century pub at the village end of the lane, serving local ales and good food, which makes for an enjoyable walk. There are miles of walking opportunities directly from the farm. Burwash itself is steeped in history and was a notorious spot for smugglers and highwaymen in the 18th and 19th centuries. The pretty, weather-boarded high street is a conservation area, and Bateman’s mansion, a fine example of Jacobean architecture, is just outside the main village. It was once owned by Rudyard Kipling and is now open to the public, National Trust. Battle Abbey lies 9 miles to the south east, Bodiam Castle, (also National Trust) with its fairytale moat, is 8 miles to the east. Enjoy a trip on the Kent and East Sussex steam railway which runs from Bodiam to Tenterden, known as ’The Jewel in the Weald’, through 10½ miles of beautiful Kent and Sussex countryside. Fishing, cycling and water sports can be enjoyed at Bewl Water, and the many award-winning local vineyards are an enjoyable day out. Camber Sands near Rye is a magnificent beach or discover the beaches at Hastings and Bexhill. Discover Bedgebury, not only offering the pinetum but also Go Ape too. The owner lives on site for your convenience and the parking is in the cottage grounds. Beach 15 miles. Shop ½ mile.

Everything just as we were expecting from the photographs. Lovely and cosy, well equipped kitchen, beautiful extensive views across farmland. Just a short walking distance from the local village and a longer stroll to Batemans. We had an amazing and relaxing few days here. Thank you Nina for your welcome.

The barn is beautiful and Burwash is wonderful, the only minus is the access road to the barn it is off road, full of potholes and single track for about half a mile with only one passing point. Please don’t take a sports car down the Lane. If you can walk to the pub it is much better, however I would only recommend this in the summer. We have a large sports saloon and the Lane was something of a challenge. On saying all this I can recommend the beautiful, barn the views are magnificent. We would go again but only in the summer.

We had a lovely time staying in the Peacock Barn. Glorious views, friendly hosts, beautiful neighbours (horses, sheep and peacock) and lots of space. We found plenty to do in the area, even with the partial lockdown due to Covid-19. We would definitely recommend and would love to return ourselves.

Very comfortable barn conversion in beautiful countryside on a farm. Very secluded but easy walking distance to the village and excellent pub. Great walking area straight from the doorstep. The barn was well equipped although the internet was rather slow. Great countryside views. We really enjoyed our stay at Peacock Barn and would definitely recommend it.

A really lovely, comfy, quiet cottage with beautiful views. Owner was lovely and provided everything we needed, including a crib and changing mat for baby. Being on a working farm is lovely. There is a lot to do in the local area including some great local walks. You do have to drive for a supermarket etc, but we got some shopping delivered so it didn't bother us. We would definitely stay again!

A lovely cottage with very friendly owners, a resident peacock and molly the dog and her teddy friend. The views from the patio were picturesque and the cottage had excellent beds and super wi-fi. A good local pub with excellent food was half a mile away and a local train station a couple of miles away made for easy access to London and the coast. We would highly recommend this cottage.
