In a stunning location above tropical Leinster Bay, these plantation ruins offer some of the last remaining reminders of the slave trade on the island.
We loved this hotel - it's a lovely place with a great atmosphere and fun decor. The owners/staff were very friendly and very helpful with suggestions of where to go/what to do etc. The hotel has a friendly family vibe. Our room was very clean, and had everything we needed. Our room was actually a kitchenette which we didn't use as we only stayed the one night, but it's useful to know that there is that option available if we decide to stay for longer next time. As a black female solo traveller, I felt safe when I stayed at this hotel. At the same time, it is a bit old. My bedroom was very clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. I would recommend it for a night or two, but no longer. The staff running the business were very kind and helpful. It is a family-run hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend it as a quick stop.

We had an amazing stay. Great value for money, stylish chic and cute hotel in town. Kind staff and great service, amazing views, and the negative reviews about the steps are ridiculous! Nothing crazy. Two cons to consider: it is in downtown but downtown isn’t very popping, maybe worth staying in a different area. Breakfast was very very minimal - needs improvement.

The best time to go to Estate Annaberg is from December to May, when the weather is typically dry and sunny with comfortable temperatures.
This period avoids the peak of hurricane season, which runs from June to November, and offers consistently pleasant conditions for exploring the Estate Annaberg ruins and enjoying the nearby beaches. You'll find less rain and lower humidity, making outdoor activities more enjoyable.
Couples looking for a relaxing holiday will appreciate this timeframe. The weather is superb for visiting the historic sugar mill ruins at Estate Annaberg, followed by a stroll along Leinster Bay or a short hike to Waterlemon Cay for snorkelling. The evenings are also delightful for dining outdoors.
For those planning a special event or a luxurious getaway, travelling in late spring, around April or May, can offer a good balance.
