It was really uncomfortable…everyone is different in what they like, but this mattress was very hard and springy for me. I would suggest a mattress topper. We really enjoyed having a fire in the evening. So peaceful. My husband and I would stay here again if traveling just as a couple. The description accurately states that the apartment will accommodate 4 people as a futon in the sitting area makes into a bed. However, the futon bed is only comfortable for one person (or maybe 2 small children). Indeed, I fell off the bed - twice! As seasoned travelers, my husband and I found the humor in it! The location was safe and easy to get to. While we read and were prepared that the apt was 20 miles from Bar Harbor, we were surprised that the ride in took 40-45 minutes - not a problem at all for us, but good info to know, depending on your travel purposes.
