Reservations made after 5pm for same day check in are NOT allowed. CHECK IN 4PM CHECK OUT 10AM This property is located in the Coosawattee River Resort which means you are able to utilize the amenities of the resort including the Rec Center with indoor olympic size heated pool, exercise room, arcade room, tennis courts, basket ball courts, putt putt golf, picnic areas at various parks within the resort and the 3 outdoor swimming pools (during summer season) at no additional cost to you for authorized groups up to 8 people. Please note, it is out of control should one or any of these amenities not be available during your stay and there should be no expectation of any refunds should this occur. None of our properties are within walking distance to the resort and depending on location, could be a 2 minute to 15 minute drive. Deer River Retreat - with 2 king bedrooms located on separate floors, it makes for a perfect couples retreat. A great covered back porch overlooking the river provides a great place to sit, relax, listen and admire the waters of the Coosawattee. On a hot day take a dip in the cool mountain waters or grab your kayak or tube and explore what the river has to offer. Of course many a fisherman enjoy throwing their line in the waters hoping for "the big one". Whatever brings you to this cabin, you won't leave disappointed. The living room hosts 2 sofa's, a 42" Flat Screen TV, DVD, gas log fireplace and views of the beautiful river. The king bedroom on the main level has back porch access, a jetted bath tub, a walk in shower and a 32" TV. The upstairs king bedroom has a 32" TV, a private bath with tub/shower combo and your own private balcony overlooking the river. There is a spacious loft that has a brand new pool table, dart board, and board games for those looking to have some indoor fun. Deer River Retreat is just waiting to make your North Georgia getaway experience one that you'll never forget! The gate attendant asked for a "reservation number" which we did not have, but figured it out based on our name and property number, which had been supplies. The cabin was an older home but well-maintained and the layout of bedrooms and kitchen were perfect. Neighboring homes were quite close but still enjoyed being right on the river.Kitchen pots and pans were very worn and knives were really dull. Since we stayed in and cooked a lot, that was annoying. The driveway is angled in the opposite direction of the way you come in, but there are other ways to get in and out and other places to turn around. The river was wonderful and calming. The hot tub was a huge bonus. We also utilized the recreation center with an indoor pool, tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts. There were some cobwebs because of very high ceilings but it was otherwise clean. The owner was prompt in responding to inquiries. The house was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, playing pool, and watching all the deer in the neighborhood. Dog friendly with gates you can use at porch entrance. Great views of the river out the back windows and off the back deck. The fire pit was great for sitting around at night and just enjoying the outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, which was well equipped for a relaxing weekend. The highlights of the amenities included an outdoor private hot tub, two levels of decks overlooking the river, and a firepit right on the shoreline. However , we received one small bar of soap for two people for 5 days. The soap was gone on day three. It would have been nice to have a chair or luggage rack in the bedrooms. My husband and I enjoyed our long weekend get away at Deer River Retreat. The cabin's location on the river was the perfect spot for us to escape and unwind and the cabin was furnished with everything we needed so we could just stay there and enjoy each other and the beautiful, tranquil setting of cabin. Only problem was our name was not listed at the gated entrance but it was cleared up and wasn't a problem during the trip. Dog Bed and water bowls was a nice touch as was movable gate on the balcony to block dogs from going down to the yard. Nice location for tubing.
