"Breakfast is ok but alway cold"

"The Positives: The hotel is beautiful with a cute rooftop dining area and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Location is perfect for walking around Casco Vijeo. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Negatives: The room I had was on the fourth floor with window facing the foyer, so you could here just about everything. Music lasted until 1130pm and started again at 7:30am so couldn't get a restful sleep. Room was clean but bed linen was stained and bath towels stained. If it had not been for the dirty linen and noise level, I would give 5 Stars."

"Beautiful hotel, the rooms are lovely the beds are so comfortable, in a great location and the staff were so kind and polite and helpful. The speakeasy is fabulous and so fun. The only thing was the food at the pool bar was not very good but the drinks were great, and the food and service at the roof top bar Ammi, not so great. Otherwise highly recommend staying at Sofitel in Casco Viejo! "

"the property has a lot of potential but left a sour taste in our mouth, I read many reviews but chose to ignore the negatives because of the great central location it was in. the only good thing about the property was the cleaning staff, they kept the place super clean and fixed our room including our personal items every morning. we stayed for 3 days and 2 out of those 2 days we woke up to no power or water, we were told there was an explosion but we were not accommodated with not even a bottle of water to wash our face or brush our teeth. we had to go to a store nearby and purchase a gallon of water. we spend the entire day out and came back late night and the power and water were back on. the following morning we woke up to no water again and the morning front desk agent spoke no english at this point it was our last day and we're were ready to go home. stay there at your own risk, the location is great if you want to be in casco viejo and walking distance to its nightlife the restaurant upstairs was also flop. "

"Great hotel and perfect location for exploring. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and I appreciated the amenities like the courtyard and rooftop bar with 360 views of the city. Highly recommend!"

"The staff was wondering"

"Very convenient location with many dining options just a short stroll away. Friendly reception and our bags were taken up to the room, as somebody had mentioned in a previous review, there are no elevators. Room was furnished nicely and there was a rooftop terrace area outside which was very nice. The room did not feel clean. I had spilled something on the floor and when I wiped it up, the cloth was literally black. The wood floors were very sticky and the grout in the bathroom was filthy. Around the toilet was furry with hair and dirt. Bedding and linens did feel clean, so that was appreciated. With a good deep clean, I would give this place a 5 star. We also stayed Friday and Saturday night, Friday was fine, but Saturday was extremely noisy, music was playing loudly until 4:27 and then started again on a slightly lower level at 5:03. Since this had nothing to do with the hotel, I'm not faulting them, this is more to warn about the area. "

"The building is great, the apartment was perfect, the staff superbe, and they take care of the building, guests and security. There is a supermarket across the street which makes your life so much easier. The issue, as others have mentioned, is that the building is at the limit of the safe area in the neighborhoods near the casco viejo. There is also a soccer field and some type of local dancing that are always playing something and very loud (obviously Casco View has no control over this). There is public pool one block way if you would like to do laps as the pool in the building is very small. We really enjoyed our stay despite the noise and the location. The walk to the Casco Viejo is manageable, just make sure you have a good hat and water as the humidity will run you down very fast. Lots to see, eat and shop."
