Families travelling with children might prefer accommodation slightly outside the immediate village centre but still within easy walking distance. These properties often offer more space, sometimes with gardens or larger grounds, providing children with room to play while still being close enough to the village for convenience.

The best time to visit El Barcenal is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is at its finest for exploring the region.

During this period, you can expect warm, sunny days, great for enjoying the beaches along the Cantabrian coast or hiking in the nearby Picos de Europa National Park. The sea temperatures are also ideal for swimming and water sports. This is particularly appealing for couples looking for a mix of relaxation and outdoor activities.

Families often find July and August especially convenient due to school holidays. The warmer weather means children can fully enjoy the beaches and outdoor attractions without concern. Many local festivals also take place during these months, offering a glimpse into local culture.

For those who prefer a slightly quieter experience with pleasant weather, late spring (May) and early autumn (October) are also excellent choices.
