I loved the hotel the front desk young lady that checked me in was very helpful, she booked my massage with Valentina who was fabulous and exactly what I needed she helped me find a converter I needed and they the most delicious buffet breakfast with a wonderful staff I asked for crispy bacon and the next 2 mornings that is exactly what I got!!! Pool could have been a bit warmer (though I forgot to ask as I am certain they would have accommodated and they need to get an English speaking news station. Perfect place to stay I look forward to returning soon!

Pricey but good
The location of the hotel can be a bit tricky to find. It faces onto the Market in front of the Rathaus, but the main entrance is down a side street which opens out. Signage should be improved as the doors onto the Markt itself arelocked for the cooler parts of the year. That was the only problem. The location is great, 11 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and in the (rebuilt) old town. Probably the best hotel in town, certainly it is closer to what you would expect to pay in a big city! But the facilities, location and quietness are worth it. Breakfast is way too expensive if you just want a roll and a coffee, but plenty of choice in town. Recommended.

Excellent choice, wonderful hotel
This is a wonderful find. This hotel surpassed my expectation. We loved the interior, pool and the breakfast was amazing. We will certainly stay again there on our way back from Poland.

Staff amazing, friendly, helpful. Everything clean and well decorated. Would have liked the pool to be open during the day mon-Fri and it was a touch cold! Couldn’t fault anything else. Lovely place for couples and families.

Central, comfortable and convenient
This hotel has everything going for it: you can hardly beat the central location, and yet our room was quiet (may be because it was on 4th floor and did not look out over the square but on the opposite side of building). Our room was spacious and the shower and toilet are separate. I like this because it allows a person to be showering while someone else uses the bathroom. The shower is particularly interesting: a walk in space with dark tinted glass doors on two sides of the space. It is both "open" and private, and there are hooks and a shelf where you can hang your towel, clothes or other accessories. We had a little balcony that provided a perfect viewing space for some unexpected fireworks set off in the distance! There was a nice coffee maker in the room (something that not all of our German hotel rooms provided) and an iron with ironing board (something I had to request in most hotel stays). The bed was enormous and so comfortable, and the temperature controls allowed us to fine tune the temperature to our liking. We left too early to try the breakfast, but we did enjoy a nice dinner at the outdoor version of their restaurant. From there you have a perfect view of the square with its picturesque buildings and passers-by. The parking lot directly beneath the hotel made getting in an out a breeze. The staff were very helpful getting us checked in and out earlier than normal. I wish we could have stayed longer, but our brief stay was a most enjoyable one.

Comfortable, pleasant hotel
Very comfortable and pleasant hotel with extensive breakfast offering. The only points that negatively affected my stay were skid marks in the toilet when I first got to my room and the fact that the room radiators were fixed to HOT without the ability to turn them off or down.

Not as nice as a few years ago.
Unfortunately, near the elevator, we were awoken early every morning by the banging of service carts in the hallway and also in the middle of the night by other odd noises. Napping in day was impossible due to construction drilling in the room above. After 2 days of poor sleep, I left exhausted. It's a great place with nice service and food, but difficult to enjoy when utterly sleep deprived.

Festive Hotel
Lovely hotel in the market square. The Christmas market is literally outside the doorway, small but gives the atmosphere to get into the festive spirit.

Hannover hermoso lugar
Todo está perfecto, es un lugar de ensueño, el hotel está en el lugar perfecto y tiene un bar, donde el encargado es Paco y es la Persona más amable que yo conocí en mi viaje por Europa, este lugar la gente es muy amable y cálida. El hotel le falta aromatizar las habitaciones ya que huelen un poco mal.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at!
Hotel was stylist, clean, family-friendly and best service I have ever received. From check in to check out this was an amazing experience. Rooms were amazing (we had 2 family suites), pool was very good, breakfast superb but the best was the the staff! The gentleman at the reception (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was beyond helpful, even to the point where he came out of the hotel, after we had checked out, to shake our hands goodbye. Never have i felt so welcomed, and I have travelled most of the world through business. Location was good and everything within a short walk. 6* hotel in my opinion!

Overall stay was good. We stayed there for one night and then extended our stay for one more night. Front desk lady booked us one night with breakfast but at checkout she denied breakfast was included so my advice would be to get something in writing for free breakfast when you check in. I stayed there to attend Hannover Messe trade fair exhibition but it was quite far away from Hannover, costed me 70 euros one way with taxi. Hildishiem is a very small town as compared to Hannover and not much to do there so I would not have stayed there if hotels available in Hannover.

Thank you for your feedback. it is very important for us to improve our hotel as our servicequality. Your first night was excluding breakfast why we extend your stay without breakfast as well. From Hildesheim to the exhibtion it takes round about 30 minutes by car. There is a good train connection as well. The train goes every 30 minutes. Hildesheim is smaller than Hannover but we have a lot of places of interest like the cathedral (UNESCO world heritage). We would be happy to welcome you again. Kind regards, M. Short stay in Copenhagen
Stayed here for 2 nights on a short stopover in Copenhagen with my family. Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Location is ideal, very central and close to all main attractions. Room was clean, and comfortable and rate was good especially for Copenhagen. It was a little noisy at night time, which didn't bother us, but may put off a light sleeper. We will defintely stay in this hotel again if we are in Copenhagen.

Definitely the best hotel in Hildesheim with cheap and convenient parking below. Excellent location. Restaurant is a little understaffed but the food is very good. Bar is totally understaffed (at one point we had to wait 12 minutes to find a bartender/waiter, but all are very friendly. Airconditioner was dripping condensation onto floor in entrance hallway in the room. Sink drain was draining too slowly.

Nice Hotel in Hildesheim
Excellent staff. Easy chick in and easy chick out. It was a very nice hotel, in the middle of Hildesheim and the shopping center. It was clean and comfortable. The view was good but the windows are high so you have to stand to see. There was a minor misunderstanding about the breakfast but it was solved. The restauarant was excellent, and the food was good. I will repeat this experience again.

The van der Valk Hotel in Hildesheim is in the middle of the city - great location! It is unfortunately a little bit difficult to find the entrance by car because of all the pedestrian zones around the hotel - but it is paying off with the hotel itself! Comfortable room, nice bar and delicious breakfast buffet :)

was a great hotel, with great service, and loved the location. i had a room overlooking the large square, and they had a farmers market on Saturday morning. the restaurants in the square were top notch, and the rooms were great. i would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in perfect location
It is always a gamble when you choose a hotel, even when you've done the research and read all the reviews, especially when visiting a foreign country. we could not have been happier with our stay in this beautiful hotel. Particularly helpful to us was a manager at the reception desk, Mareike. She went out of her way to help me and was extremely patient and kind to me, even though I cannot speak any German. She made a stressful situation very easy for me.
