I don’t write reviews often, but this place and this town truly deserve one. We stayed here as a one night stopover and it ended up being the perfect choice. The hotel is unique, clean, and very accommodating — you can tell there’s real care put into the space.
Casey itself is such a pleasant surprise. The “Big Things” attractions make for a fun walk around town after 10 hours of driving, and everything is spotless and welcoming. There were plenty of food options for the evening, and the whole area has a charming, small‑town feel that’s actually impressive.
If you’re passing through or looking for a simple weekend day‑trip destination, Casey and Eighteen-Ninety Sleepover make a great pair. Highly recommend.
If you're looking to stay somewhere historical in a small town that has plenty to see, this is the place. Very clean, very nice room amenities, codes to get in the building and in to your room.
Responsive and helpful staff! We had a smooth check-in and fresh, clean stay. The only thing we felt inconvenienced by was how much sound traveled across the floor and between rooms there's a large gap under the door between rooms where we stayed).
It was a cool building converted into rooms. Each room had it's own vibe. What was a bit strange was the kiosk check in and figuring out the codes for the doors. There is a railroad track with trains that go by in the night.
Virtual kiosk assistant for checking in. I gave a bit of a "Black Mirror" or "American Horror Story" vibe at first, but after I settled in it was great. The kiosk attendant was very helpful and kind and patient. It stated that it was owned by a veteran, but was unable to substantiate that claim.
The train will wake you up and maybe the neighbors too, but this place is still worth a stay. Check in was weird, but no issues. Room was clean and the AC works great! The building has so much character. The bathrooms and beds are wonderful, and those were the most important areas to us. Give it a try! We plan to stay again!
Driving in to town after a long exhausting day, first view of building makes you briefly wonder if you're at the right place, but the owners did a great job of texting information and entry codes so there was no delay getting in. The building is of historic nature, but the rooms have been remodeled so nicely and have such a unique homey feel. We stayed in 204 at the top of the stairs, and the brick wall with secret messages from previous guests was so fun to read through. The location was perfectly centered near majority of the "big things" hunt, and we truly enjoyed our visit.
It was very clean. Being an older property, they had a separate room air conditioner that worked very well during the heat wave. The only downside was that the elevator was not functioning, so we had to climb 24 steps each time. Not good for people with mobility issues. We did ok, just had to be careful. I would recommend it , despite that.
From start to end, I felt welcome and cozy. And location was perfect. Everything within walking distance. The creaky floors won me over. How cool!

Loved the vintage style of Room 306.
Definitely a first experience not having a person at the front desk. Instead it is a kiosk and with a person communicating via internet. I liked the ease of not worrying about a room key and just using a code for the doors. Elevator was not working and we had to climb 2 flights of steep stairs so not for a person with health conditions. No phone available in the room which was different but not a huge deal but didn't really know who to get ahold of for the tv remote was not working due more than likely dead batteries so no tv available which was a bummer. Loved the convenience of the location right in the heart of downtown so easy walk to see most of the largest road attractions. There were a few too far to walk but just drove to them. Very friendly and helpful people in Casey Illinois.
Overall a good experience.
Quaint little boutique hotel in the heart of Casey. Easy to walk to the majority of "big" things. Check in was impersonal using a kiosk. We had no in person contact with any hotel personnel. The room was clean and had lots of character. Very comfortable beds. We stayed in 305, which meant climbing two flights of very noisy, creaky stairs. Luckily, we were at the end of the hall, very far away from the stairs. The room was cool and comfortable, but had a very loud A/C unit. Clean bathroom, but no hair dryer provided and there is no counter space around the sink. Adequate parking. Overall, we were looking for a hotel that wasn't a cookie cutter chain, and that's what we got. Enjoyable stay, although a little pricey for a Monday night.
The room was great, second time staying here, lived it so much last year that I booked the same room again! Super walkable to a majority of the attractions. Grab some coffee or tea and treats at Casey Coffee Co down the block.
Excellent stay, very rustic and unique building! Comfortable beds/furniture, super cool bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Right in the middle of downtown Casey, perfect!
The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable! We were able to walk to downtown! The only downside was the stairs but not enough to not keep us from coming back!
We had such a great stay. It was a unique place that was walkable to all of the things Casey has to offer. Very clean and the staff were so very friendly.
The room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable.
After the first 2 or 3 times up and down the street stairs they weren’t So bad ,we found out we could still do stairs without any trouble.we’re in our late 70’s .Enjoyed walking around the town and seems the sites, had some wonderful food all in all we had a great time. Would stay there again!
