About this property

Marsa's Place-Marsh/Creek/Ocean Views; Easy Beach Access;Dogs Welcome

  • Marsa's Place | Pet Friendly Vintage Beach Retreat, Shared Tidal Dock, Private Edingsville Beach Access & Marsh/Creek/Ocean Views
Settle into a classic Edisto Island beach house at Marsa's Place, a charming 3BR/2.5BA vintage retreat (sleeps 7 | 1K, 2Q, 1 Futon) nestled beneath the live oaks in the gated community of Cowpens. Tucked between the Atlantic Ocean in front and Frampton Creek behind, this pet friendly home offers four porches, a shared tidal dock, and a short walk to private Edingsville Beach. Wake to wide ocean views, wander down to the creek, and choose a different porch for every mood.

    Creekside Days & Edingsville Beach
Morning coffee can easily become an hour watching birds work the marsh. Dolphins visit the tidal creek. Cast a fishing line or lower a crab basket from the shared dock or settle into a porch rocker and let someone else catch supper. Stroll along a pleasant winding path past the lagoons leads to private Edingsville Beach, where you can walk the uncrowded shore, search for shells and sharks' teeth, or spend an afternoon surf fishing. Beach access is on foot or by bicycle, and the walk is part of the experience. Nature supplies its own changing program. Watch monarch butterflies during their autumn migration, a doe and fawn beside the backyard creek, and shorebirds feeding in the marsh. Sea turtles' nest on Edingsville Beach in season, and keeping the shore dark and undisturbed helps protect them and their hatchlings.

There is time here for an old-fashioned swing, another chapter of your book, and conversations that outlast the sunset. After dark, step onto a porch for stars overhead and moonlight across the sea, and listen to the surf and the sounds of the marsh.

    Vintage Comfort Indoors
Inside, soaring 9-foot ceilings, plenty of natural light and luxury vinyl plank flooring in all three bedrooms set the tone. Traditional vintage furnishings and fresh bedding in every bedroom reflect a home loved across generations. The well-equipped kitchen is made for gathering, so compare the day's discoveries over supper, then choose your porch for the evening. Starlink internet service keeps you connected for streaming and staying in touch.

    Sleeping Accommodations: Sleeps 7
Three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, all on the second floor, give your group room to spread out, with porch access from every bedroom.

Close to Edisto, an Hour from Charleston
Edisto's local attractions, restaurants and shops are a short drive away. Charleston is about an hour away, where many famous festivals and events like Spoleto and SEWE are held, which makes Marsa's Place a quiet seaside base camp. Plan a day in the city, then return to the creek, the sea and a slower rhythm.

Cowpens Beach

Overall impression is great. The location is wonderful, we have stayed in the neighborhood for several years in several different houses. This house needs some minor updating and cleaning of HVAC grilles etc. We all know beach houses are tough to maintain! Overall great stay!

Great location

This property was located in a safe, gated community with a wonderful view of the ocean in the front and the low country in the back. We fished off the dock catching redfish and sea trout. We even had a dolphin come visit us as we fished. It was a .8 mile walk to the beach. It was a fantastic beach piled high with shells. We walked 7 miles along the beach one day which was so beautiful and worthy of some notable shelling. It was located close to restaurants, grocery stores and shops. The house itself was quite dated with 1980’s decor. We didn’t mind because it was spacious, equipped with everything to prepare meals and overall was clean. The property management company was good at communicating everything and were easy to deal with and offered friendly service.

Marsa’s Place

The house is in a beautiful location. The multilayered porches give you amazing views of the creek and ocean, we just wish there were more usable rocking chairs on each. The house is dated but is fully stocked. The air vents rattle and are moldy. We were very disappointed that the shared dock did not allow for us to use for kayaking. The house next door monopolized the dock the entire week. The cargo elevator does not work as expected. We really liked the house for the most part and loved the location. We would potentially think about staying again if the dock was indeed shared and usable.
