"I have stayed here a few times and I would recommend it. The room is comfortable, the staff are friendy. A great cooked breakfast, a livey bar with good food options. It can be noisy for early nights until the bar closes and with bin collections in mornings but that's fine (not a problem with earpugs). A charming location and a place I expect I will return to."

"Happy with my 2 night stay. The room was comfortable and clean. Good location in town, a nice bar and a great beer garden. The guest discount is a nice feature. I ate in the resturant and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and as a solo traveller it was nice to chat with locals and the owner who made me feel welcome. I have stayed in many places in Shrewsbury and this is great value and one of the best options. I would stay again."

"We loved our stay and will return but the housekeeping in the rooms needs to improve (barely acceptable), the bed linen is beautiful though. The setting and the rest of the hotel makes it worth it though!"

"Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great for children, they made a real effort. Milk and cookies at bedtime brought with a selection of books. That was a real personal touch that we hadnt expected. The room was a great size for 4. Decent breakfast despite the small size of the hotel. We were only looking for a bed for a couple of nights to attend a birthday celebration but were really delighted with what a pleasant stay it was. Would definitely come back and hopefully the car chargers will be operational then."

"The Good: The rooms are decor are decent, the breakfast was pretty good and it's centrally located in Shrewsbury. The Not Good: The water out of the hand sink tap in the room was boiling hot on one side and freezing cold on the other. The coffee was bad. But the real issue was it's a busy pub in a busy part of the high street and there was music blasting until 12pm on Saturday night, then after that a constant stream of young clubbers screaming and shouting right outside the window, until about 5am. So we couldn't get any sleep at all. It was a joke really. Not entirely the establishments fault, but it should have been clearer when booking and the staff weren't very sympathetic."
