As an American that had never seen real life cockroaches before, maybe I’m overly sensitive. Maybe it’s a common thing in the Philippines or in tacloban in particular? But we had to call staff for cockroaches in our room multiple times. And I’m a bit squeamish, so I didn’t sleep well at all. We booked the “fabulous” rooms. They have a queen bed upstairs and two twins downstairs. We also had a delayed check in. Several hours, because of some electrical issue? And I’m pretty sure I heard a rodent of some kind moving around in the rooms ceiling right over the bed. My wife laughed at me because she’s a tough cookie. Without the pests it would be quite a nice place. But I’ll never go back, thanks.

Excellent staff, amenities, safety, and conveniently listed — all for only 1000 PHP more than a barebones apartelle-style property further from downtown Tacloban. Onsite parking, secure entry and front desk managed throughout the night. The attached cafe, restaurant and massage spa make it easy to stay in if you want a break from the bustle of downtown Tacloban. It’s an old property, so some things like the television are not in excellent shape, but when traveling TV is the last thing on my mind, and it’s I need to watch something I can just do so on my device with their free wifi.
