Ashley was the best host. Very professional. We would definitely recommend Ashley and his lovely assistant Lisa, very accommodating and nothing too much trouble. We shall be staying there again. The breakfast is to die for, locally sourced and delicious. You could not ask for more it was all provided and presented with love. It is a great hotel in a central location within walking distance of all local attractions. The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent.

An excellent inn/accommodation with good food and reasonable prices. An old inn, much extend and beautifully decorated. Room are in the pub and 2 outside buildings. Only issue I would have is parking and access. . The site rises to the rear, both to the parking and the outside buildings. I use a walking stick and could just about manage the slopes and the stairs but severe walkers or wheel chair users would not. There is disabled parking (and electric charge points) availed. Location..it has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. ( need a car) Rooms are very comfortable, tea /kettle etc. Stairs are a little steep. staff are lovely ,had a very pleasant stay. We arrived Saturday lunch time, they had a party of 40 in, but fitted us in and it was delicious! staff attentive and it arrived quickly so all good, so I am very sad ( and surprised ) to say breakfast was poor ! we didn't opt for the buffet and cooked ,rather just the cooked, it took ages to appear...

I was hoping that this hotel was out of the town and was a little concerned when I saw the location was in the suburbs of Halifax however was pleasantly surprised at the peace and lack of noise both traffic and neighbourly. It was the best night's sleep i've had in a hotel lovely comfy bed and the cleanliness 10 out of 10. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Food very good . I really couldn't fault this hotel.

Having read several less than complimentary reviews, I have to say this was a first class experience. Many rooms and most of interior are refurbished. Breakfast excellent. Great value for money and will definitely return.

It's a nice pub that is part of the Thwaites chain. Menu doesn't cater well for Vegetarians and not at all for Vegans. Disappointing to see them burning coal on the fire in July, really thoughtless. Room was lovely though
