"I needed a place near King Shaka Airport to spend a night after a long flight from Dubai and Umdloti is about the easiest and closest, so I booked online through Expedia and got a good price too. The waves that morning of the Thursday 4 June were the highest they'd been for years and the early morning view was wonderful. I arrived very late and the watchman had all my details and let me in. My only regret was not being able to stay longer, as I had to drive to my destination the next morning....

We had a wonderful stay at the Sanchia Guesthouse. They arranged transport to and from the airport for us and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
The room was beautiful and the huge jaccuzi bath was thoroughly enjoyed after 24 hours of travelling. Breakfast was delicious and overall we would give 5 stars. Highly recommend.

My stay was longer than usual in Durban. Initially I had reservations about booking a guest house but found the experience from start to finish excellent. The team made my stay memorable for many reasons… warm breakfasts and that daily muffin, keeping the room fresh everyday, clean linen and towels are all important to keeping one’s stay happy.
The owners (who live on the premises) are wonderful and kind people who are happy to stop by to say hello with meaningful chat.

Our best stay in South Africa by far.
We stayed for 6 days. So sad to leave.
Sandy looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.
Our spacious room opened onto a terrace overlooking a beautiful pool and garden area.
A great breakfast. Staff were excellent always smiling, in a great leafy quiet residential area and only a 5 minute walk to many shops and restaurants.
We will be back when we return to South Africa
