Beautiful guest house in the coveted Animas Valley right on Coon Creek. 800 SF guest house offers plenty of privacy. Relax outside on the wrap around porch and enjoy the views of the Animas Valley, Engineer Mountain, and Missionary Ridge to the east. You'll feel right at home when cozied up in the living room next to the wood burning stove or relax in the air conditioning after a hot day out on the trails. If you like friendly competition, enjoy the newly installed pickle ball court and 1/2 basketball court. This is the perfect getaway for a couple looking for some peace and quiet in Southwest Colorado. The home comes equipped with a well stocked full size kitchen for anyone looking to make a delicious meal after a long day of relaxing or exploring. The guesthouse also has a washer/dryer on site for guest use. This is a special setting that has lush mature landscaping. This house is loaded with character and the location couldn't be better! 15 minutes to downtown Durango, and 15 minutes to Purgatory Ski Resort. Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom - King Bed (Main Level) Admit it, wouldn't you rather be here? There is an additional pet fee of $100 per dog per reservation. Maximum of 1 small dog allowed. Dog must not exceed 40 pounds. Renters are responsible for their pet(s) at all times and must ensure all solid wastes have been picked up and disposed of before departure. There will be a $500 fine if there is an unauthorized pet on the property. NO Smoking anywhere on the premises. Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking. A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets or guest with them in the home. We just loved the sound of the creek and overlooking it on the back porch was a great way to end the day. There was a lot to do for outdoor activity and the owner was so nice and helpful. Travel to and from the city was no problem. Place was clean but I would say a little dated. There were several times we could not enter the property with out getting wet due to the sprinkler system, but we didn't melt. The cottage is so quaint and the setting so peaceful and lovely. We had only to bring our own groceries for the week as the cottage is perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The bed is comfortable and management is quick to respond if there are any problems. We've spent two days Jeeping in the high country and two days fishing( very successfully) at both Lakes Haviland and Molas. The leaves were at their peak this year making Last Dollar Road, Owl Creek Pass, the Million Dollar Highway and the San Juan Skyway particularly beautiful.
