Met some family there and stayed for five days. Had everything we wanted; including a grill and plenty of firewood for bon fires. To simply bring food to the house and have everything else we needed was really great. The area is beautiful, very relaxing. The house is great and very clean; master bedroom is awesome. Thanks you to the host and I highly recommend.
The cabin was very cozy and felt like a remote location since you are at the back of the neighborhood. It was nice to be able to explore right out of the back door through the forest behind. The house had plenty of items to make our stay comfortable. There was more seating in the family room than the listing showed which was nice. I wish they were less worn out chairs and couches but great that we all had a place to relax and watch movies. We would definitely stay here again.
This vacation home sits high on the mountain with spacious decks to enjoy the views and cool mountain air. We found the kitchen very well stocked with cooking equipment and plenty of dishes for a large family. The host was one of the best we have had, very helpful and easy to communicate with. Just wished we had seen a bear!
This was a really nice spot to stay if you are looking to snowboard/ski Purg. The house is well equipped with everything you need and plenty of room. They are not kidding about the 4x4 and quality tires though, definitely necessary during the winter months. I would definitely book again.
The house met our needs. It's in a beautiful area and close to good skiing and other Summer activities. The internet was a bit slow but useable. Other than that great place. Close to some trails. Very enjoyable.
Property overall was good, but could use some minor repairs. While dishes were provided, could use a few more silverware. Other than the things mentioned, all the other amenities was spot on and very nice.
Took the family up to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. House was perfect for our stay. Close enough to town without too much hustle and bustle. Area was beautiful and quiet. House had everything we needed. Didn’t cook at all so can’t comment on how stocked kitchen was but the rest of the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed the house and area so much we are returning next month with hopes of seeing the foliage change.
We really enjoyed our time at blithe’s place. It is a little bit of a drive to get back into Durango, but it’s also a way and very quiet and very pretty. If you’re planning on going to Silverton or Ouray, you’re already almost halfway to Silverton. So that was another benefit from staying a little ways away from Durango. There is a bar and restaurant across the street from where you turn off to go to this place. It’s called, the nugget. Very unique place but we went there a few times as it’s very cool. I highly recommend staying at this place and planning on spending a night or two there. If got a permanent food truck on there that serves great food and also has some very good refreshments.
Private, roomy, clean, and full of extras for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Blithe was friendly and attentive to any communication and responded quickly. The night sky blew us away. The cabin is conveniently located to many area attractions and trails. Just a short and scenic drive to both Durango and Silverton. I highly recommend.
Great place to stay! Close to ski resort. The house was great! Had everything we needed. They are serious about the 4wheel drive. Would stay here again. Wish we had more time to stay longer.

Great house!
Our family of 5 just stayed here in March 2016 and the house was perfect. It was the best stocked rental home we've ever been in and the size and access to skiing was great. The hot tub was a nice bonus!
We had the best time during our stay! Its out of the way so you feel secluded but close enough to everything. I loved that the internet was slow, made everyone connect more. It was the best stocked cabin we have ever stayed at. Tip: Order a pickup order at walmart in durango which is 45 minutes away so you dont have to buy higher priced items elsewhere. This cabin will be our first choice if we return to durango area!
The cabin is clean and cozy. The kitchen is large and we’ll-equity. It’s in a great location, private, and quiet. The host, Blithe kind and responds quickly.

Enjoyed the winter wonderland.
Beautiful property. Loved the hot tub after a day of skiing, and the kids had a blast taking the zip line and dropping into the snow. Overall a great experience! The only thing I would change is upgrading mattresses and fixing living room seating.
We had a great time in Durango. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. There is no A/C so it did get very hot in the house during the day as are stay was in July. It cooled off enough to sleep at night.

Feels like you're borrowing your sister's mountain home
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay outside of Durango in this lovely home. Our nephew married across the highway at silver pick lodge, and it was so convenient to be this close. The home is roomy and inviting with anything and everything you could need tucked in a cubby or found under a cabinet. We needed a Band-Aid and we found it! I recommend this home for your family vacation to the mountains!

Great stay!
The cabin was wonderful. Was located between Durango and Silverton. Was easier getting to Durango though. It was just secluded enough for privacy even though there was a home across from it. The home was well stocked and clean. Only had time to enjoy the hot tub once. It was nice although the water was a little green. It was the perfect size for our large family to spread out. The kids especially loved the zip line cord in the back yard. The drive up to the cabin is long but enjoyed going past the lake and looking for wildlife. Can imagine the drive could be difficult in the winter. The owner was very easy to contact and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
There are some great things about this place and some not-so-great things:PROS: Lots of room for our family, kids loved having bedrooms in the loft All the utensils needed for a full kitchen Backed up against the beautiful San Juan National Forest Located between Silverton and Durango with easy access to nearby trails Had an excellent feeling of isolationCONS:- Some VRBOs feel like they are specifically for renting -- others feel like you're staying at someone's house; this VRBO is the latter- The house was mostly clean, but there were issues, like a sticky kitchen floor that needed to be mopped- I killed 6 brown recluses, including two right by the master bed, which made it tough to sleep soundly; I know the house is in the woods, but we've stayed at other VRBOs in the neighborhood during the same time of year and never saw a single spider in those; we pay 120 a year for a pest spray and have no issues at our house -- I'd recommend the owners do the same here- Decorations were a bit random; didn't feel upscale and seems that it's more of an after-thought- The recliners are all broken, so that popping out the foot rest will cause you to lean to one side- Rugs are stained, paint is peeling on front porch, this place just needs some TLC and it would be much nicerAll in all, it fit our needs, but we won't be back unless there aren't any other options.
