The room itself was quite small with see through curtains and the walls are paper thin so we heard the person in the room next door talking loudly on the phone at 8am whichwoke us up. The bed was comfy and clean however the rest of room needs a refurb; mould corners of room, shower curtains dirty and exposed toilet pipe amongst other things wrong with the room. Also with the free parking you have to drive up a curb which likely damaged the bottom of my car.

Its old and run down inside and out. No kettle, cups, fridge extremely basic and completely out of date with the rest of Europe. It was clean. Will not use this hotel again.

Way over priced. Bathroom omg . A macerator toliet . When anyone used the toilet you knew about it. The mixer valve in the shower was rotten . Because you could see dunkirk beach between the buildings £80 ! Without breakfast . No thankyou

We enjoyed our stay at Le Transat Bleu. It was good value for money and close to the gorgeous beach which we could see from our window. The room was clean and comfortable but a little tired looking in places, such as the balcony railings had flaking paint, shower curtain was a little short for the shower. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good too. This isn't a fancy place to stay but affordable, clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

You pat for what you get , this is a cheap hotel in a good beach location. NO parking available so very bad location from that point of view

The location is amazing. The hotel needs updating. Parking is limited and cleanliness is okay. We had two room and the second/ economy room only had sheer curtains so tons of light until nearly midnight shower smelled of sewage and no English speaking channels or subtitles available on the tv.

A pleasant 3 day stay.
The first thing to say is that this is a 2 star hotel, so it can’t be judged as if it were a Hilton. For 2 stars, it’s not bad at all. The decor is a bit tired, they could do with some new towels, and the rooms are quite small, but the food in the restaurant is excellent, the wifi is very good, and the owner is very friendly. We paid a little extra for a room with a balcony and sea view, and were not disappointed. We would certainly stay here again.

Lot of noise outside very late. Room warm. Walls paper thin. Heard saniflow toilets in other bedrooms. Staff were good. Basic food menu was OK. Breakfast OK but machine coffee.

Just Fine for a Night or Two
It is definitely on the smaller side, more common to Europe, but it was comfortable enough and had hot water. We were so exhausted that we didn't really pay much attention to anything. I don't think you can go wrong staying here for a night or two, but I wouldn't consider it for a longer stay.

The rooms need to be insulated for noise plus very stuffy, needs updating plus not in a very run down area, I was kept awake on a Thursday night until 2am because of the drunken people shouting leaving the clubs

we stayed overnight at the Transat Bleu. On arrival. staff were pleasant and helpful. Even allowed us to access our room before the 2.00pm allocation. The room albeit small was clean and the bedding clean and fresh. However the stairs and passage to the rooms upstairs was poorly decorated and had a smell of drains. The bathroom shower tray was cracked and had black mould. The hand basin plug was stuck and would not pull out so the water stayed in the sink. There was only one chair on the balcony and there was an ashtray which had used cigarette ends in it.The view from the balcony was lovely.It stated that breakfast was served from 7.30am , which was good as we had an early departure.. However in the morning there was no staff and the front of the hotel was locked. We had to leave without breakfast and unable to hand the keys in. We had to leave them latched on to the door handle. inside . We tried unsucessfully to contact someone.

Best location for freebie seekers and quiet vacati
It is a basic beach hotel. The price is low and we expected the limitation. We were surprised that the city provide free buses and this location was only 2 minutes walk from one 1 minute walk from the beach. You can't beat it. Besides their friendly staff compensated all else.

Hotel isn’t anything like the photos advertised very grubby feeling felt like I’d been done over by Expedia very disappointed, we had no towels in the room I had to go find them myself in the housekeeping cupboard as nobody there to ask! - bathroom wasn’t up to scratch shower you had to hold as head of shower was just pointing straight noway you could shower properly there, everything felt dirty and grubby there! Close to the beach but a bit of a workman’s site atm nothing really open or appealing. Lady on check in was nice but felt very disappointed by stay dark and Depressing stairs and hall ways felt a bit like a prison . Nowhere near as advertised won’t be staying here ever again .

The check in and overall appearance of the hotel need updating and decorating but the room was very clean and comfortable. Very thin walls as we could hear the conversations in the other rooms.Ideal location next to beach.

Stayed here with friends for 2 nights, hotel in the process of being refurbished. Rooms already done and so has the bar/reception area and outside seating area. Bathrooms have some modern elements already, but toilet and sinks could do with modernising. Stairway /Walls to the floors could do with painting a lighter colour as very dark. Work in progress. Overall no issues.

We got the impression that there were new owners. The service and restaurant were excellent in quality of food and service. The bedroom was comfortable but the bathroom needed some updating and was quite small. We stayed one night to catch the ferry and I would go there again for this purpose.

The owner was kind. He had recently purchased the place, and it was far from finished. The restaurant was completed, but empty. Most of the clientele preferred to eat elsewhere. The rooms, however, still need work. We were three in a tiny room, which was okay, but the bathroom door did not shut, and whenever someone flushed the toilet, there followed a loud plumbing-related roar for five minutes. We heard other guests complain about the plumbing, also. The wi-fi did not work in the room, only in the restaurant. The location, however, was super, just off the Dunkerque boardwalk with all that it offers, and the magnificent beach.

We stayed here as a base to travel around the area. The hotel is basic but adequate. My room had a comfortable double bed and a small balcony, a shower room and tv. Very clean and was fine if you don't expect to spend a lot if time in the hotel. The dining room/bar area was very clean and modern. The menu was not large but the food was very good and there were always locals eating there which I think is a good sign! The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming

Fantastic welcome and stay in Dunkerque
From my arrival to departure at Le Transat Bleu I felt welcome and comfortable. Fantastic location, 20 metres from beach. The owners are a very dynamic and kind couple who take great pride in their hotel and ensuring a positive experience for all guests. The breakfast is excellent, no need to go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

The hotel is having a major refurb which we didn’t know about. We we woken up at 8 with drilling and hammering. The owner speaks perfect English and the breakfast was very good. The bed was very comfortable. The owner said they are going to refurb the bathrooms next. They were refurbing reception and restaurant at the moment

Overnight stop.
It's basic. Used as an overnight stop on the way to Germany. This area of Dunkerque is not great, so didn't expect 5* and that's the point. £60 for one night not including breakfast. Having said that the staff were pleasant and very accommodating. Even to the extent that they waived the city tax (we had no small change). The room itself was adequate (no kettle, but in Europe, this is the norm). Yes it needed a paint job, as did the whole hotel, but again to repeat, as an overnight its fine.
