Classic Kiwi Bach with a modern touch

Warm and comfortable, the bach is well insulated, well heated and has a modern kitchen. A major renovation in July 2024 added a second bathroom and upgraded the existing bathroom. You're only 2 minutes walk from one of New Zealand's most beautiful beaches and a 15 minute drive from central Dunedin.

We are pet friendly and the property is well fenced so your dog will be safe to roam around the lawn.

Ocean View beach is one of Dunedin's best kept secrets. We lived in Dunedin for 14 years before we discovered it in 2004 and we've lived here ever since. Seven kilometres of beautiful white sand just 15 minutes drive from the centre of Dunedin. The weather is usually better than in the city with average temperature about 2 degrees warmer. The beach is often fairly deserted so don't be surprised if you're the only human in sight. If you're lucky, you might get to meet some other visitors as we often see sea lions on the beach and fur seals and penguins on the rocks near Brighton.

Great stay! House had everything we needed and was very calm and relaxing after long day-trips. We had some bad weather and the house was great for in-door days as well. There were TONS of toys our 4 year old loved which was fantastic. Beach is literally across the street. Would highly recommend! Host is very helpful and there if you need him!

Very comfortable Bach but requires a car to access shops, groceries and Dunedin attractions.The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and there was plenty of warm bedding provided.The beach is close by and very pretty.

This bach exceeded all expectations. We had such a lovely time. Our children were entertained with the garden and ample things to play with. The beach was such a treat to walk to everyday and the drive into Dunedin was an easy one. We would definitely recommend this stay!

A+++ home away from home!

We were blown away by this pleasant little surprise property! Six of us stayed comfortably for three nights. Plenty of space for all of us and the two bathrooms were such a bonus, meaning we didn't have to stagger showers after each other. With all things needed for travelling with kids, it made the trip so much easier! It was only a short drive to the city, which was perfect.

Perfect for a small family

Small and cozy stay in a seaside town 15 mins from Dunedin. Flat lawn fully fenced, great for backyard cricket/rugby with the kids. Bedding good but sheets a bit crinkly/noisy for us, we prefer cotton for feel/quietness but that's just our preference. Would def stay again!

STUNNING LOCATION!

This Bach is located across the street from a beautiful beach with stunning views! It is close enough to town (Dunedin, Green Island, Mosgiel) for food/supplies. Conveniently located not far from Otago Peninsula and lovely walking trails. It is peaceful and the beach was virtually deserted and serene…a lovely walk in mornings and evenings! The hosts are fabulous people and very responsive to any questions. Do plan on bringing most necessities for cooking. They provide basics and the kitchen is well stocked. From a price/value standpoint this is a gem!

Lovely stay in Brighton

We were so impressed with the cottage, which had two queen-size beds and twin beds in a third bedroom and two great bathrooms. The showers were great, with really good pressure. One bathroom had a washing machine and a separate dryer, which we found very useful. There was also a good-sized lounge, dining room and an excellent kitchen, though we did have a bit of a fight with the stovetop. I guess you have to get used to its controls. There was luxurious feeling carpet throughout. There was also an off-road parking spot and a nice outside seating area. What made this even more amazing was that only three weeks before the lounge and kitchen area was flooded. It was brilliant that Heather and Stan managed to have all the work done including new carpet, wallboards, painting and kitchen cupboards. You would never know to look at it that it had been so damaged such a short time ago. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Dunedin. There is still more to see and do, so we need to return soon. Stan and Heather communicated quickly and kept us up to date with progress in the house.
