Top Duce Hotel Reviews

Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Split

10/10 Excellent

"Spa area was fantastic perfect for a late october stay. Rooms were spotless. Plenty of options at breakfast. And a few steps away from a lovely beach walk (40 mins) into old town. We had a great stay and didnt want to leave."

Hotel Ambasador

10/10 Excellent

"We arrived fairly late and the front desk was ready for us and helpful. Although we slept through the first breakfast, we did love the included buffet and al la cart menu. Massive variety including mimosas. Our room was well-appointed with a good mini-bar selection. Beautiful property in an amazing location."

Amphora Hotel

8/10 Good

"We stayed at the Amphora in October break which meant the hotel was relatively quiet, it appeared as if they’d reduced the staff. The main restaurant disappointingly was closed, we were served in the breakfast room by a single waiter who was unable to cope with demand - food there was not great. Location is fine as long as your either up for a long but pleasant walk or happy to take a taxi, beware some of the local taxis are fierce at overcharging €95 for 2 miles from port to hotel - after that one I used Uber for everything which was good. The promenade and beach were excellent. Spa facilities were good easy to access with capacity in October, would be interesting in August. Room was nice and clean with amazing view of Adriatic Sea from balcony. Overall I would recommend staying in the hotel and eating out, Split city was very interesting with nice cafes and restaurants"

Divota Apartment Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Loved this property. We were lucky enough to be upgraded and had a balcony which was lovely to sit and play cards with a drink. There was also a washing machine and a couple of all in one tabs which was helpful. Very central but also easy to park close by. As this was an apartment, we could have cooked, everything was provided, as well as a coffee machine. Couldn’t fault it at all. Breakfast was up the road in a small cafe, also nice"

Bluesun Hotel Berulia

10/10 Excellent

"First of all, BRELA is beautiful. It does not have a lot of tourist due to the fact there is no cruise ship port bus terminal or airport nearby. It feels very local. The restaurants along the beach walkway were amazing and easy to access from the hotel. The sauna was excellent. There was a small fee but well worth it. You must reserve ahead of time but you’ll have a lot of privacy the beaches out front our world class they are small pebble type beaches, but the water is so clear you can see 25 feet Highly recommend heading out to the right side or to the north to a couple of the beach, restaurants and bars as they have outstanding food and drinks steps from the water wasn’t too impressed with the food at the hotel great buffet breakfast, but I wouldn’t recommend eating dinner there not because it wasn’t good. There’s just so many great options down the beach that are right on the water. The hotel was super clean and had been recently refurbished. We will definitely stay there again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Duce?

The best area to stay in Duce is along the main D8 coastal road, particularly the stretch between the Hotel Plaza Duce and the start of Omis.

This area is the heart of Duce, featuring a long, sandy beach that's great for swimming and sunbathing. The D8 road runs parallel to the coastline, with many apartments and villas situated directly on or just off this road, offering easy access to the beach. You'll find a good selection of restaurants and beach bars scattered along this stretch, making it incredibly convenient.

Families often find this area ideal due to the gentle slope of the sandy beach, which is excellent for children. Many accommodations here offer direct beach access or are just a short walk away, meaning you won't have far to carry beach gear. The proximity to local eateries also simplifies meal times.

For those looking for a slightly quieter experience but still wanting beach access, the eastern end of Duce, closer to Omis, can be a good option.

When is the best time to go to Duce?

The best time to visit Duće, Split, Croatia, is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September.

These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures, ideal for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities without the peak summer crowds. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the local restaurants and shops are fully operational.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will appreciate the quieter beaches and the opportunity to explore the Dalmatian coast at a more leisurely pace. The fewer crowds mean a more intimate experience at local eateries and attractions.

Families travelling with children will also find these times advantageous. The temperatures are comfortable for little ones, and the beaches are less crowded, providing more space for play and easier supervision.
