Hickory House - Family/Group and Pet-Friendly Retreat Near Lockhart Square!

"The Hickory House was the perfect stay for our last-minute Labor Day weekend trip to Lockhart! Two king bed suites with en suite bathrooms is hard to find, but makes it easy for two families to travel together so no one feels like they get stuck with the smaller bed or sharing a bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised by how comfy all of the beds were. They were luxuriously comfortable, beyond what we’ve come to expect in a vacation rental. However, The top quality of this home is the location. When it comes to Lockhart, you want to be walking distance from the square, or else what’s the point? From Hickory House you can grab chaparral coffee in minutes, hit up 5-star bbq, or pick up takeout from a number of great options and enjoy back at home in the comfy living room. We loved being able to spend the day shopping and eating then get home quickly to rest when we hit our wall. Bonus points for HEB being right across the street for quick grocery runs. We didn’t take advantage of The spacious backyard or fire pit because it’s still too hot but a small pool would send this property over the top and we would never look anywhere else when coming to Lockhart!"

"We had a fantastic visit. Aaron’s property was beautiful, conveniently located, and impeccably clean. We had our two service dogs with us and the fenced yard was an added bonus. Lockhart itself is a hidden gem, and this property made for a lovely weekend getaway. I highly recommend."

"The property was clean, had everything I needed, and was comfortable. However, there was a sour smell that lingered through the house and I replaced the air filter which needed to be replaced a couple months ago by all the build up. Other than 2 things, I would definitely recommend this place and book it again."

"Beautiful home and great location! The house was so quaint, beautiful, and absolutely perfect for our little getaway! It easily accommodated our whole group and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The backyard pool was amazing, and the location was ideal for our event and provided easy access back into Austin. The only minor suggestions we have for future guests are regarding the electronics and AC. Each room has its own private AC unit, which is a fantastic idea for being in the Texas heat!, but it can be a bit difficult to navigate at first, since we'renot used to it. Also, the TV did not have a physical remote or instruction manual. We had to figure out that you need to press the small manual button on the TV, download the Roku app on your phone, and connect it to the internet to get it working. Aside from that small learning curve, it is a beautiful home. We would definitely rent this house again. Thank you for having us!"
