The Little America Hotel is a very nice 4-star hotel in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. A sister hotel to the Grand Hotel directly across the street, the Little American offers luxury accommodations and good service for a reasonable price.
We were there only one night, but I wished we were staying longer. The location was fantastic -- right downtown near Temple Square and the City Creek Mall. Everything was in walking distance. Parking was very reasonable -- $5 for a 24 hour period although they let us stay longer. The staff was helpful and the room clean. The beds were very comfortable as well. There were nice amenities such as free bottles of water and TWO luggage racks, so that my husband and I each had one. The room was large enough to accommodate our skis, suitcases, cooler, and all our other "stuff."
We were very impressed with this hotel! I will gladly stay here again. i added the complimentary breakfast and it was so worth it! Such a great assortment of delicious food! We were glad to find such a nice hotel that offered free parking. The pool was closed for the winter so my kids used the hot tub which they loved!!! We were on the bottom floor and didn't hear anything from those above or next to us.
Friendly staff. Hot cocoa at check in. Super cool old hotel. Most comfortable hotel bed ever! Walking distance to everything. Great breakfast. Charming. Unique. Quiet. Loved it. We will definitely be returning!
We were really looking forward to staying here since it had so many high reviews. And the room was definitely nice with a lot of great modern updates. It had a nice eating area. On the downside, the layout in the room was really awkward as the pullout couch and king bed were basically just in the same space with a TV in the middle; it felt sort of cramped. And the bed was not comfortable. Breakfast is very good from a selection standpoint - lots of hot food and anything you could think of in the continental category. Unfortunately, they did not have the staffing to keep up with it on one of the days were were there - the line for omelettes was over 30 minutes long and they kept running out of bowls and forks, and could never seem to keep the water pitcher full. The next day's breakfast was much calmer as the hotel was not as full with no similar issues - so clearly the message is, when the hotel is full, they have trouble keeping up. Because of the price we would have expected a more "perfect" stay, so with the breakfast situation and the uncomfortable bed, I almost would have rated this a 3 - except for the absolutely stellar service we received at the front desk. I had questions about parking and our room and the two folks I dealt with could not have been nicer and more helpful. That really helps the situation when the people you are dealing with are knowledgeable and friendly.

The front desk staff was very polite and efficient when I called to notify them we would be checking in very late. When we checked out a different staff member was also quick and pleasant. This hotel fit my budget and location needs. Plus, the beds were very comfy.
