We stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. The bed was wet with water from the previous guest but the hotel changed our rooms and provided us some upgraded services.
They over accommodated for us and it is refreshing to see hotels still doing what The Iron Horse did.
I was just in town for one night and spent most of it in meetings. I really wish it would have been on a Friday and not Thursday and would would have stayed through the weekend. There is a great deal of attractions that are walk able with numerous dining options. Very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff and don't miss the happy hour.

I love this hotel! Historical beauty! On this visit though, the room could have been cleaner. I would expect rooms at a hotel like this to be spotless but the counters were dusty, the bathroom floor corners were dirty and the glass shower was spotted. I'll definitely stay here again but they should deep clean the rooms better.
Our stay was 10/3 - 10/5. We were visiting from Chicago to run the Milwaukee Marathon on 10/4/15. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Intercontinental and would stay there again and recommend it to others.
We wanted to be near the lake and a park- also close to the downtown area. The hotel was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and helpful to us. The breakfast was very complete and delicious. The room was a little small for 3 adults as there had to be two large beds but we managed. There were a lot of amenities in the room. We were pleased that we had an adjoining room with our daughter and grandson. That made things very convenient- it was a very positive experience for us and helped to make our short stay in Milwaukee a pleasant one.
We stayed at this hotel while on a trip to Milwaukee to go to a concert at the Bradley Center. It is within easy walking distance to the Bradley Center, the RiverWalk and other downtown attractions. It is a very nice, clean hotel with a great bar and lounge, great gift shop with Starbucks Coffee(!) and extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Downtown Milwaukee’s blue-collar breweries used to define this fictional home of “Laverne and Shirley” and “Happy Days”. Now, the town is just as famous for the Santiago Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum, an architectural gem, and the Summerfest, an annual lakefront music festival. The Brewers baseball team plays at Miller Park, with sausage races drawing devoted fans.
