"Nice hotel on West Cliff"
There was some confusion over checking in, since the computer was not working. Staff were not aware that I had pre-paid. I was disappointed with the single room I was given. These days you usually expect a more comfortable double bed.

Very nice hotel. The restaurant had great views even if the food was not of the highest quality. The rooms were adequate. Location was perfect for our needs.

"we had a lovely stay"
We had a lovely stay with our son, the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was to much trouble the decor could do with some updating but the room was still comfortable and clean, close to a range of restaurants, the beach and the town centre for shopping.

"Good hotel - excellent spa facilities"
Spent 4 nights here, nice and close to the centre (about 15 mins downhill - remember back is uphill!!), the food was excellent, and the spa facilities were also very good. The staff could not be faulted and were very accommodating. There were a couple of minor issues with parking, but the staff were very helpful with this and provided solutions where possible, and we had a couple of maintenance issues with the bathroom, but once informed, these were rectified within an hour! Overall a very good experience and would definitely stay again, but would book direct with the hotel and have a room with a guaranteed parking space!

"Pleasant personal experience"
We booked a last minute double room and got an en-suite twin room on the ground floor at the back of the building, which turned out to be much more modern than some other rooms we booked before in the same hotel. The following night I wanted to book a single room and hotel staff was very helpfull and gave me one of the nicer rooms on the first floor for a bargain. From experience I know that you could also get rooms which are very old fashioned, with dated furniture and ugly carpets and in urgent need for refurbishment! A real drawback in this hotel is the poor Wifi connection, you only have it very near the reception.

"Stay was spoilt by builders working on scaffolding"
Lovely hotel but would not have chosen it if we had known that builders would be working on scaffolding right outside our room. Had to keep the windows shut and curtains drawn for privacy.

Booked late and all B&B's in town were full, came across The Beach House and it was perfect for our needs. We had a family room and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. We arrived very late on Friday night and range ahead to let them know, it was no problem. Lovely place would recommend.
