"We’ve been staying at Kona Islander since 2008 and have stayed in several different units over the years. We keep coming back because we love the location and atmosphere, and the staff during this visit were absolutely wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had a great stay overall. Our main disappointment with this particular unit was that it did not have a hot plate or small stovetop. One of the reasons we choose Kona Islander instead of a traditional hotel is the ability to prepare meals during longer stays. We stayed for 10 days and went to Costco planning to make many of our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in the room, but with only a microwave, we couldn’t do that as planned. This unit also had only a small refrigerator, while other units we’ve stayed in at the property had a full-size refrigerator and freezer. That was less important to us, but worth mentioning. We would absolutely stay at Kona Islander again. We just hope the owner considers adding a hot plate or small stovetop to this unit. That one addition would have made an otherwise wonderful stay even better."

"Absolutely loved this hotel! Walking distance from everything in the historic district, but also easy to get on the highway and explore the rest of the island. Parking on site, pool and hot tub and breakfast included all of which is really hard to find in Kona. It was especially nice for the kids to have the breakfast and pool. The staff was extremely helpful, I would gladly stay here again. I highly recommend the hotel for families."

"Our stay at this well-renovated condo was a very enjoyable one.The unit is very well-furnished and well stocked. The central AC was a very welcome perk, not easily found at most units we’ve researched for trips to Kona in general.The unit’s location in the building also provides a uniquely impressive view of the ocean as well as the adjacent lagoon.Proximity to downtown restaurants and other attractions was a very useful benefit. Despite being relatively close to the busy downtown strip of Ali’i Drive, this 4th floor unit’s location in the building, provides a private and peaceful feel.We would definitely look to rent this unit again on future visits to the Island."
