We had to check out 1 night early to stay somewhere else, it was a poor hotel that is in desperate need updating. Definitely not the experience that we paid for, and it felt like the food menu was over priced too. Finally, a horrific smell of trash from an open rubbish dump nearby, which could be felt in most parts of the hotel. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was small and dark. it was my birthday and there was no mention of this even though my husband had given advanced information. The buffet and dining room looked spectacular but the food quality wasn’t what we were expecting given the visual wow factor. My least favourite hotel whilst staying in Sri Lanka. The rooms are clean, contemporary, and very comfortable, and the food offers a fresh take on traditional dishes. What really makes the stay special is the staff — they are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Although the hotel is just a short 5-minute tuk-tuk drive from the centre of Ella, it feels peacefully tucked away in nature. It’s the perfect spot if you want to enjoy the stunning scenery of Sri Lanka while still being conveniently close to the town. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay that I would highly recommend."
