"Great place for a stay during our car trip from Italy to the Netherlands. Very friendly staff in the reception and restaurant. Quick to solve some issues we encountered (allergies for bedding), large rooms for a family of 5, nice playground for the kids and close to the highway to continue our trip. The hotel lacks a few safety features in the Bathroom area like unsave bathtub ie could use rubber mats or hand rails.
The Bar/Restaurant on street level is excessively noisy (music - low level base) at weekends Friday/Saturday up to 4AM."
"We are a big family and were welcomed with open arms. Hotel Balsthal is a charming, modern hotel with a rustic feel to it.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be back.
Staff is very welcoming to children and went above and beyond to accommodate our little ones.
It is surrounded by beautiful nature trails and old castles to visit.

"Very well located in the lovely medieval city of Rheinfelden - a few minutes from the train station, the Rhein (as the name suggests!), shops, restaurants, cultural centres and very pretty walks.
The hotel itself is well run, friendly, comfortable and peaceful.

"The hotel was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I slept really well and there was no unwanted noise in the evenings. Breakfast was lovely. The pool was small but enough for us. There were regular buses into local bigger towns. "
