The hotel is very overpriced and the services and food provided are subpar. Food and drinks are priced quite high for the region and the quality was very unimpressive. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable and there is no AC in the room! It was very hard to sleep due to the high heat and humidity in the room at night. We have stayed in 3 other mid-budget hotels this trip and all of them had in room AC units. The building is absolutely beautiful and feels like it has been there forever, even in the new parts. The room was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. They filter their water so you can use the taps no problem to brush teeth but they provide lots of bottled water as well. The location is perfect for exploring Stone Town, which is very safe to walk around on your own. The views of the ocean from the hotel are endless. And the staff goes above and beyond - everyone is helpful, always smiling and wants to make sure your stay is perfect. Our only regret is we didn't spend an extra few nights here.
